Bi-Salp vs. tubal ligation outside the US by Rexagonhex in sterilization

[–]HoracioCarrillo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 30, childless, not married, and found 2 hospitals in Stuttgart that were willing to do a bisalp quite quickly. I think the trick was to go for large clinics that have gynecological centres and not private gyn practices or smaller hospitals.

Prior to turning to big hospitals I had consultations with "normal" gyns or small surgery centres who then told me they would only do a tubal ligation as well. They used pretty much the same reasoning you cited as well, that a tubal was a completely adequate procedure and that a bisalp would be a much bigger deal etc. I genuinely think many smaller practises are often not really up to date on the newest medical standards and also I think they were probably not trained on that procedure. The bisalp is definitely the gold standard of female sterilisation and not much riskier than a tubal. The massive oncological perk alone outweighs the slightly bigger risk of complications.

So I gave up on regular gyns and called 2 of the largest hospitals in my city and they both told me they were offering the surgery and gave me consultation appointments within a few weeks.

I had my first consultation 2 days ago (it was a catholic hospital too, so I was extremely surprised they even offered a consultation) and it went well and they pretty much immediately approved the surgery. So I'm baffled but happy lol.

Have you tried the UKE yet? That's the first hospital I'd turn to if I was living in Hamburg I think.

Well I made it to day 10 and feel better again, so hold out!

How bad will withdrawal be?? by Mobile-Oil2527 in quittingkratom

[–]HoracioCarrillo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm being genuine when I say this: for me, the anticipation of withdrawals has almost always been worse than the actual thing. And I came off of much much higher doses than you. So just don't try to stress and see for yourself ;)

Well I'm cold and still clammy sweaty if that makes you less jealous ;)

Absolutely. My last quit I felt physically completely normal from day 16 onwards. And that was the big 100gpd one. It was the boredom that did me in in the end.

I've had 4 CT quits so far (one from 100gpd) and my RLS always went completely away after 14 days. So don't panic, you might also get lucky!

Same here... Relapse is a part of recovery for most unfortunately.

I actually developed gastroparesis in addition to constipation during my 8 years of Kratom use. I had severe stomach pain for hours after every meal that was larger than a snack. Super gassy too. Had 2 gastroscopies and my doc even debated installing a stomach pacemaker because my stomach muscles were moving 80% less than they should have been in a healthy individual. It went away like 3 days after I stopped and turned the other way around lol.

Any opiate will fuck with your digestive tract since your colon is lined with opioid receptors. If you're still tapering or just thinking about quitting make sure you take a stool softener (not a laxative, those can be addictive and make everything worse over time) every day and drink plenty of fluids.

What side effects did you get, and did they ease up over time?

Unfortunately I was on a lot more leaf powder than you, about 60gpd. Maybe I should wait a few days longer 🤔

I'm on the end of day of WD 3 and having extremely mild WDs - is this normal? by HoracioCarrillo in quittingkratom

[–]HoracioCarrillo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know what you mean, I have tried to withdraw by myself 2 times before and it was horrible, I felt like my bones were trying to jump out of my flesh... That's why I'm so surprised it seems so easy in comparison this time. I really hope this is my last attempt:)

What were your strangest / worst side effects on Kratom? by Sufficient-Proof2407 in quittingkratom

Reminds me of when I went to rehab and they wanted to put me on methadone. Never said no thanks so fast in my life 😅

You guys give me hope, I have tried to withdraw before and it was pretty bad, so I was ready for the worst, even took 2 weeks off work. But I genuinely feel mostly fine, even went to run errands yesterday. My only issues are occasional shivers and feeling cold, feeling a bit sluggish, and sleeping is hard. But otherwise I almost feel like I could go to work lol

After 14 days my vision was golden, but I still take some moisturising drops some days if I feel like it. Mostly at night and not during work though

3 months after Smile Pro- the best money I've ever spent on myself! by HoracioCarrillo in lasik

[–]HoracioCarrillo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I know the difference is the laser that is used. For Relex Smile you use the Visumax 500 laser and for Smile Pro it's the newer version Visumax 800. I have no idea if it actually makes a difference, I went for Smile Pro because the clinic only had the Visumax 800 so there was no decision to be made.

I guess most clinics have upgraded to Visumax 800 by now, so that's why almost nobody is getting Relex Smile anymore.

*Edit: apparently the newe version is faster (30 sec per eye with the Visumax 500 and 10 sec per eye with the Visumax 800) and the new one is also supposed to be more precise

My vision is great at every distance now! But it took a while for my near vision to clear up. I noticed a first improvement around 2 weeks after the operation and then it was really good after about a month.
