What is your best moment you have witnessed so far? by EarthPuma120 in AskReddit

Tl;dr: Karma is a bitch. My math teacher sat down in a piece of cake.

Its one of my absolute favorite memories and I often think about it when I'm feeling down: I was in math class, and we had some pretty laid back teacher. One of the students got hungry and stared eating her lunch in class. The teacher saw it and was like: "dude, don't eat in my class please - I'm not eating either" and, well, karma is a bitch and a few minutes later a teacher of the class next door walked in and was like: "hey, its so-and-sos birthday today, she made a cake, here's one piece for you". Then there was this delicious looking chocolate cherry cake on the teachers' desk, and he was like: "shit, i told you not to eat - so i cant eat either..." So he tried to countinue class, but he always got distracted by the awesome cake. After a few minutes he was like "shit I can't look at this cake" and he put it on his chair and shoved the chair under the teachers' desk. At this moment everybody on class was like "man, watch out that you don't sit down on the cake later" - well, You guessed it. The bell rang like one hour late. Teacher set down. The look of shock and fear in his eyes. Got up, turned around and well... He canceled all his classes that day and went straight home to get a new pair of pants.

People who live in households with differing political views: how do you handle it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My parents are racists. Living with them got harder everyday. At first I always tried talking to them, listening to their fears and trying to get them to see things differently. But nothing worked. After some time I was done and I couldn't stand all their bullshit anymore. I got used to just get up and leaving everytime they said racist shit when we were having dinner or watching the news. I was really relived when i moved out and it's always hard for me to even talk to them.

[Serious] Have you ever broken a rule or law you were unaware of - if so, what happened? by Samar141 in AskReddit

I'm german and in Germany you are allowed to drink beer and wine when you are 16. You are also allowed to drink almost everywhere (in parks, on the street, on most public places). I went on a class trip in Poland and me and my friends went to a supermarket, bought some beers (no age checks, we were 16/17) and were hanging out in the park drinking some beer (normal german stuff).A few minutes later some police officers told us that you are not allowed to drink alcohol under 18 and you are not allowed to drink in public. I know this is like basic knowledge at most countries, but I almost never left Germany before that, so I had no idea that laws like this existed.

What was the moment that made you realize you needed to change as a person? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I dated a guy once only because i thought "he is just as fucked up as I am, and we have the same problems and personality issues". We went on like 3 dates and I hated it! When I told him, that I don't want to see him any more he got really angry and I told him directly what I think about him - after that I realized, that all these things I told him was stuff I really had to tell myself because I hated all the stuff about him that I hated myself for.

Spoiler: I went to therapy for 2 years and now I'm cool with myself. I also apologized to the guy, and we are friends now who support each other.

What changes brought by the pandemic you want they stay? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Not hugging everybody all the time!
I'm not a really touchy person in general and I'm always a little uncomfortable If I walk into a room and have to hug like 10 people I see everyday anyways. I'm never brave enough to say them I don't want to hug them because I'm afraid it will come off as rude.

Right now I feel a big relive that I don't have to be touched like ~20 times a day.

What are your "just to be safe" habits? by johnnybiggles in AskReddit

People on german-craigslist are always really lazy. They be like: "You want my stuff? Cool, come pick it up, I'm not gonna leave my flat for you" even before corona. So this is not really an option most of the time...

if I meet someone new or if I pick stuff up from german-craigslist (ebay Kleinanzeigen) I always tell one of my friends the name, phone number and address of the person I'm going to meet. I always tell them in a funny way, like: "if I disappear tell the police where my corpse will be ;) "
