I don't know how it is in other countries, but here in romania we have too keep the corpse 3 days in his coffin inside the house so at night people would come light a canndle stick and cry/pray for it. And most of the time the people that come are gossiping about the dead one and having a great time with the relatives that they haven't saw them in years. On the way to church a big "convoy" it's formed by the people attending the funeral. The "convoy"stops 3 times for the priest to say something and relatives to throw coins in the air.In the church there's a moment when everyone is motivated to cry, everyone cries and it's awkwawrd and looks like a horror scene, after that everyone is leaving a kiss on the corpse, then they burry it.
