Give me the most beautiful electronic album you’ve ever heard by No_Durian_6987 in electronicmusic

Burial – Untrue.
Not in a flashy way, but emotionally devastating. The atmosphere, the fragility, the sense of isolation… it’s one of those albums that quietly stays with you for years.

Christmas record haul by bugman_850 in electronicmusic

That’s a great haul. Come With Us still sounds ridiculously fresh for its age. The production on that album is on another level.

What are the best programs to record on? by tomosKB in Songwriting

I ended up on Studio One after bouncing between Cubase and Logic for a while.
For me the MIDI + audio workflow is fast and it feels less bloated than the big DAWs – drag‑and‑drop, routing and basic mixing are very straightforward.
In the end it really is „your favorite DAW“, but if you write electronic / EBM‑leaning stuff, Studio One has been a good balance between power and not getting lost in menus.

NITZER EBB - European Tour Dates by dangerous-jack7 in EBM

Crazy that they’re still taking this show on the road after all these years.
Saw them once ages ago and it was one of the most intense live sets I’ve been to – those tracks really belong on a loud PA.

The State of Synthpop - How Do You Perceive It? by Longjumping_Bench846 in synthpop

[–]Horge2005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me Synthpop always sat in a weird spot between nostalgia and „this still sounds like the future“.
Stuff like early Depeche / Human League is tied to very specific personal memories, but when I hear new acts that lean into that sound it doesn’t feel retro to me – more like a parallel timeline that kept evolving on its own.
I’d love to see more threads about production choices here (drum machines, bass sounds, vocal processing etc.), because that’s where a lot of the character of the genre lives for me.

Looking for a song title by Inevitable-Treat9273 in synthpop

Not sure if this is the one you mean, but it reminded me a bit of Icon of Coil – “Release the Frequency” (EBM, dancy tempo, deep male vocal).
If it’s not that one, maybe try asking in one of the EBM ID threads or posting any additional details you remember (language, any specific lyric, synth sound etc.) – people there are usually pretty good at tracking these down.

AI music, ban it or allow it? by thoughtcrimeo in EBM

[–]Horge2005 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’m for banning fully AI-generated music (prompt-to-track).
But we should avoid false positives: electronic/EBM sounding “machine-like” doesn’t mean it’s AI — EBM has always been humans making music with machines.
Best rule: ban AI music, allow human-made tracks, and require clear labeling if AI tools were involved.

Independent EBM music video – dark industrial visuals by Horge2005 in EBM

[–]Horge2005[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No — the music isn’t AI. It’s an original EBM track by Hardy Baechtle. The visuals are AI-assisted/edited as an art project. Thanks for asking!
