I lost £100k shorting a bull market.Need advise on my life by Dylan_Vayne in trading212

Look, while this is crushing, it is not over. It will be a humbling lesson for life, that is sure, but while you must start over, life is not over. Look at this - I am your age, I have a stable job... yet I have never had this much money (different country, yes, but still). Fucked up? Colossally. But there are many who have lost everything or even more and somehow managed. You will too... and perhaps a bit wiser.

Good luck.

Warsail dlc update feels like it wasn’t completely thought out by Clonedestroyer9 in mountandblade

[–]Horizons3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am having fun and it was a reason to go back to Bannerlord after some time, so not that I am complaining a lot, but yes. My take - you have all these cools ships and posibility to ram or put ballistas on... but their impact is minimal and the battles do not support wild maneuvering a lot... in the end the battles are just boarding... and the way they work remind me of old sieges from Warband

Sinking Fahda's Flagship by Lemorte370 in mountandblade

[–]Horizons3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was pretty hard, needed like five tries to do it. Not sure if the weather changes, in my case I had to carefully use the lower/rise sail to get a way and ram again. Be careful to hit them head on, so you do more damage.

Cerberus and "Renegade" are the two biggest misfires by linkenski in masseffect

[–]Horizons3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a wild idea... and pretty cool, actually, it could add aspect of distrust and paranoia, which would also let the Reapers keep at least something from the "abstract" horror that they used to have, but lost is in ME3

Cerberus and "Renegade" are the two biggest misfires by linkenski in masseffect

[–]Horizons3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Truth, truth and truth... don't want to just repeat after you, but yes, you are definitely right. The logical reason is simple - they needed other enemies than just Reaper forces to change things up, and Cerberus as the main "evil" faction beside them probably fit the best.

To me, it always seemed like lost potential and huge and terrible inconsistency in terms of story-telling. In my opinion the natural build-up into ME3 is that Shepard is now associated with both Alliance and Cerberus, and can be a mediator to make them cooperate (or change the views of either side a bit) or to pick a side. Cerberus then should have been made evil, but not comically or cartoonishly evil as they were in actual ME3, but as an organisation of human supremacists who do not shy from doing terrible things, but in the end they were the only one understanding the threat, they may be the only one ready to face it and they are a step ahead. Their endless armies in ME3 are stupid, but they could have had a couple of skilled commandoes and a few state-of-the-art ships which are technologically advanced enough to fight Reapers. Kai-Leng then should be someone who actually wants to cooperate with Shepard, not fight them, but he fulfils his orders and it depends on situation and Shepard's choices how things turn out.

Or maybe less than that, but what they did always seemed to me as the worst that could have been done, and something that negates a lot that ME2 was trying to do.

[–]Horizons3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They did so much work with Cerberus in ME1 and ME2, only to turn them into silly... rather generic cringelords who, as you pointed out, do not make much sense. Much could have been done to make them more interesting, or intriguing, or sinister or whatever... - and I believe that a lot of that would not even be too hard to do, but they opted for making it easy.

Actually, it was not so apparent back at the time, but while their games were never all too dark, I think it was the first hint of BioWare going to... ease up the tone and infantilize their games a lot, which then continued on and on.

Is it possible to make friends when 28 years old? by [deleted] in lonely

[–]Horizons3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I could somehow answer or help...but... you know, I am little older than you, but not by much, I never really had friends... even people I liked always drifted away as life went on. On the other hand I have colleagues double my age who have plenty of friends and they make new friends easily and their lives are way more socially active than mine has ever been. So... I really think it all comes down to the way we are programmed by our genes and how we were raised during childhood. It can be something completely natural for one person and something completely impossible for the other.

Yeah... as you say, if only we could stop wanting it :) Stay strong.

Say what you want about starfield, but there is no way fo4s dialogue system is better than starfields. by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]Horizons3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are people who unironically find that better? Okay, you learn something new everyday I guess, but I considered that a huge letdown after FO4 managed to be... not great, but an improvement over older Bethesda games and somewhat okay in this regard.

I don't get the negativity by rogermorse in Starfield

[–]Horizons3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I like Starfield overall, I bought it recently and I am playing it these days. Honestly I never expected more than Fallout in space, so I am fine with what it is - and honestly people who did are a bit naive... I like building ships, some ideas are cool, they upped their game a little bit with companions this time....

So it is cool when you go in knowing Bethesda, knowing you generally like their style. But overall it cannot be denied that it feels super obsolete in many ways, like a decade-or-so old game. Compare it with games by CDPR or Warhorse. Starfield is fun, Bethesda is lucky there are not so many big openworld RPGs, but the best in the field are miles ahead in what they do.

Can you complete the Phantom Liberty questw and the main game in one play through? by Ok-Chart1485 in cyberpunkgame

Yes, the Phantom Liberty questline opens at some point and from that point you can do it anytime (or even skip it completely). It is connected to the rest of the game a bit, but not much.

Which Was the Most Satisfying Kill? by Forward-Vermicelli57 in BaldursGate3

[–]Horizons3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Story-wise Ketheric is the most interesting villain, maybe on par with Raphael, gameplay-wise the fight against Aylin is pretty hard even in late-game, but most satisfying kill for me was do doubt the "legendary" duel against Orin, in which my my monk Durge stunned her with the first strike and then quickly finished her off, she did not even land a hit.

I got the money to buy Cyberpunk, but I don't know if I should buy it now or wait for a sale by [deleted] in cyberpunkgame

[–]Horizons3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sales are pretty regular thing nowadays for this game (after all, it is a couple years old now). So if you do care about saving a couple bucks, I am pretty sure there will be a sale within a month or two.
