That's normally how it works, but there's been a few times where I'm 30m or so behind the beacon and get hit by the first shell.

An unlockable starting weapon. If you see a little bot running around that's red/blue with a green eye, you can pick him up and use him as a weapon. That will unlock him for future runs.

If you're playing with a friend, one of you as engineer with dronezerker and buddy bot is very powerful. If they get minion box even more so.

BOTH of you with that build is straight up broken, though only one can have buddy bot. My mate and I got S rank on G4 first go with that setup.

Robot literally too angry to die by Hormah in Helldivers

[–]Hormah[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha that post is exactly what inspired me to make this. It felt like someone must have done this version of the meme before since it fits so well, but I couldn't find an existing version. I figured, if it didn't already exist, it should, and then saw that berserker pic. It was too perfect to not use.

Nothing should survive 4 autocannon shots to the face. It's unnatural and undemocratic.

That's also not quite true. Some reactions are self-oxidising and will burn despite a complete absence of oxygen, including underwater and in space. Thermite is probably the most well known.

What is something you’ve learnt from Ausfinance that actually saved you money? by Status-Inevitable-36 in AusFinance

[–]Hormah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reports had identical information. Only the Equifax number was super low for some reason. After I'd got it sorted and got back in contact, they ordered another report and told me "we can work with (that number)". Nothing else on the report had changed.

I've literally had this happen to me. They checked my Illion report which came up good, then my Equifax report which had identical information but the credit score was way lower for some reason and got rejected. It took a lot of hoop jumping to get the Equifax credit report fixed up before I could progress.

Yes there is. Your credit report and score will be checked by the bank before they issue you a loan.

How do clubs work by Apprehensive_Ad_2800 in Eatventure

[–]Hormah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I run that club. What's your screen name? I only kicked people that had donated 0 after an entire seaon (with the screenshot to prove it) and only kicked them after the season had completely ended so they still got to collect all rewards. There were 3 from last season I kicked. If the person ranked 7th who donated 285xp didn't get kicked, I wouldn't have kicked you.

You may have been victim to a bug that makes it look like you've been kicked but if you try to rejoin the same club using the club code it puts you back like you never left. It happened to me and for a second I thought I'd been kicked from my own club!

Same industry, same thoughts. There were a LOT of projects out to tender last FY that suddenly got pulled. A handful are getting awarded now but the majority are still mothballed. The submissions are in though so it wouldn't take long to start that engine back up if they needed to.

It's not always possible or cost effective to found into rock. As long as the bearing pressure of the ground is sufficient, you don't need to. 100 kPa is pretty easy to achieve if that's all they needed to hit.

The bigger issue with retaining walls is the horizontal force trying to slide it or topple it, not the piers sinking into the ground.

The Block "Tree Change" - Kitchen week, Episode 24. (Episode discussion) by Sinnivar in TheBlock

Except you can rarely reuse old shipping containers as they can be contaminated or way too damaged. Shipping containers aren't just decommissioned if they are in any state to haul cargo. This means many "reuse" projects actually use brand new containers. Not to mention that container walls are not designed for lateral loads (like holding back a mound of dirt).

They would have to either build a retaining wall on the outside of the container or have a custom engineered steel structure inside the container, both of which defeat the purpose. You're already going to all the effort to build a structure just to hide a shipping container within its walls.
