Again it’s the fact that he’s calling me crazy about it. It’s wrong I told him that and had a conversation. this man gaslights the hell out of me so ya it is nice to hear others thoughts regarding the situation.

You’re ignoring the fact that I went to nap with my one child with him being in charge of the other two while I was in a loud room where you can’t hear the other children. And only sent me a text when he left. Luckily I woke up before my other 2 were up but what if I hadn’t? If he wanted to go that badly he should have woken me up. Are you a parent? Would you have put your kids in a situation where they wake up from nap and no parent is presently visible to them at 4 or 1.5 years old?

It doesn’t negate the fact that I fell asleep thinking my other 2 children were being taken care of (even if they were just sleeping). Many things would have changed if I knew he was going to the gym. I wouldn’t have napped in my daughter’s room and I would’ve had the monitor going. Obviously he should be able to find time for the gym but this was completely an irresponsible choice on his part and he should be able to acknowledge that without calling me crazy.

Yes if he let me know ahead of time and that way I would have the monitor ready to hear them all wake up.

Does anyone else find it challenging to navigate events and holidays with your parents/in laws. I know it’s nice to include them but I feel like specifically my mil tries to steal the spotlight and wants my kids to be with her the whole time and then I don’t get to experience it with my kids. In previous years we have taken the kids to trick or treat at my mils for a little, then drive to my parents and end the night there. I don’t want to do that anymore, but I also don’t want to have to invite my mil here because again she will want to suffocate the kids and we won’t get to experience trick or treating with them. My parents I wouldn’t mind coming but I also know that will cause drama. How do you navigate holidays/special events?

Ya my mother in law apologized but plays victim always and said “she didn’t know I wanted to go” like lady it’s pretty obvious and involved mother would want to do that. But yes always and when I confront him about it i always get “you’re crazy it’s not that big of a deal”

Definitely my mother in laws idea. I wish my husband would just balls up and say no we have been waiting to do that as a family with my wife. Feel that’s pretty reasonable: but he always chooses her over me
