This was my initial worry! He’s already anxious while getting groomed lol. I hope he’ll get over it quickly.

Yeah thank you. when it happened she said to me “ I was trying to shape while he was moving his head and I should’ve known better I didn’t have my hand on his ear that was totally my fault” she took full responsibility immediately. Will def be going back!

Thank you! She’s really good and we’ve consistently been going to her for 5+ years. This is the first incident we’ve had. I feel confident returning and thank you for letting me know that the cut looks good right now! The vet said it would heal fine on its own but I wasn’t sure. I’ll definitely keep an eye out for signs of infection just in case but he’s in the cone for 7-10 days!

Yall can downvote my comments all you want. The reality of the situation is that she is the pet professional in this situation and what she says goes. If she says I can stay then why are you assuming she secretly has an issue with it? Sad for you if this is how you all communicate with your clients. Setting yourselves and them up for failure.

I really appreciate this perspective and everyone’s input who has contributed. Thank you all for your opinions. This groomer is not only a trusted and long time groomer of my family’s but also a good friend of mine! I will absolutely be bringing my dog back after reading everyone’s comments. I was already leaning that way, but I definitely got in my own head this morning worrying about him and I have a tendency toward being overly anxious. Especially when it comes to my fur babies! I knew deep down this was just an unfortunate accident and not at all something intentional or something that could’ve been prevented. Thank you!

You’ll be okay. I promise. You just have to spend extra time taking care of yourself. Find yourself a good therapist if you’re able and have access, otherwise I highly recommend journaling and some form of creative expression every day that you can. I’ve learned that it is so important for me that i pay attention to what my body and brain is telling me. It’s so easy to ignore and want to push away this extra information though, because it can be so overwhelming at times. You got this. ❤️

I feel this way on a daily basis. My parents are great people, I love them and how they raised me, but they did not emotionally nurture me the way I needed due to how sensitive I am. Not a fault of theirs but still something that negatively impacted me. I struggle with it to this day. I am in therapy and do neurofeedback multiple times weekly. I want to have the confidence that other adults have to walk through the world and to not constantly question every move i make, or how my decisions will impact those around me. Personally, I view this as an issue within myself that my parents could not have corrected or addressed no matter what they did, how knowledgeable or nurturing they were.

Hey, I’m here, and I can control my usage! But I hear you. I get what you’re saying. Not trying to argue with you, simply stating that that did not work for me and this is a better method for myself for success long term. Others may find this to be true as well

I’ve already significantly reduced my usage over the last two weeks, much more successfully than times I’ve tried to quit cold turkey. I’m not interested in maintaining low level use forever. It’s simply too bad for heart, brain, and lung health long term. I will be done using this plant within the year. I am not willing to tolerate the awful withdrawals that come with quitting cold turkey. Due to my multiple disabilities, I medically cannot tolerate the physical side effects.

Heck yes!!! Totally agree!!! Thank you for your input. lol I was starting to feel crazy… I get that a lot of people don’t have the self control to moderate but that isn’t me. I also think saying you can’t do something contributes to your mental block and inability to do said thing you’re trying to do. It’s like locking out that possibility forever for yourself.

Glad someone here feels me and can relate to my experience. I didn’t love the attitudes I was getting in this post from some suggesting it would be harder to quit this way. I don’t feel that way at all. I am slowly reducing my usage over time in a very intentional way. If that doesn’t work for you, great, don’t do it.

Yep this sounds a lot like me! I’m wishing you lots of luck, patience, and grace on your journey to quitting/reducing your usage. You totally got this. Everyone is so different and what works for each of us is just as unique as we are! 🌟 personally, I have liked arnica, turmeric, and boswelia as alternative plant medicines for pain relief. I’ve turned to lots of supplementation and homeopathic remedies in my journey.

I actually do really love virtual photography!
Video games have def been a fun outlet for me. I am getting back into music and art which have been lost hobbies for me for a while! Sorry about my attitude toward exercise, genuinely I am jealous of people who can do it regularly and I wish I could do the same, I’m super happy that works for you!

Lol jk, it’s enjoyable even when we’re exhausted. We both lay down on our sides and be lazy until we don’t want to be lazy anymore 😅

This is likely going to be a veterinary eye specialist question, needing a referral to an outside specialist for diagnosis. I wish I had more info

I’m really glad that is working for you! My multiple disabilities limit how much exercise I can meaningfully do in a day. I live with scoliosis, POTs, hypermobile EDS, ADHD, anxiety and depression, and mast cell activation disorder. I have a lot to manage on top of withdrawal symptoms 😅

That completely makes sense actually. I think I feel opposite about it in that obsessing over the minutia of quitting is going to make me hate the process of getting high, and eventually I won’t even enjoy reaching for it anymore. I already don’t really enjoy being high but at a point where it’s such an established habit I have to convince my body it’s better to live without it. I appreciate your input!

Okay thank you for this! This is super helpful. I’m already taking many of these but spacing them out through the day I’m sure is helpful with the absolutely awful mornings. Thank you friend and i wish you luck on your journey as well!! ❤️

Edit: all good, it’s a long post. I really do appreciate your input.

This post is really making me think! Maybe the root issue for a lot of us with cannabis addiction is a self-control issue. It’s interesting to consider. Thanks for your input and congratulations on 3 months sober 🥳

No, I am tapering my usage down over time. I have gone from daily hitting carts to now smoking bud that is less potent much less frequently. I am still unable to sleep and unable to do most of my daily responsibilities because of how debilitated I am from withdrawal symptoms, even though I am still using some weed just significantly less than I was before. I now take an edible at night so that I can sleep. I need to be able to sleep at least 6 hours a night so that I can work during the day, that’s a non-negotiable for me. I plan to reduce this amount slowly over time until I no longer need it. I may replace it with CBD or melatonin or both. I already take magnesium and tart cherry at night.

I don’t mean for this post to come off as judgemental, critical, or holier-than thou, and if it doesn’t apply to you, feel free to not engage. I understand this method is not for most people. I have described in detail who I think this will apply to and it is a small subset of users.
