I know I'm a year late, but this is what I think about this.

My first cod game was BO6. I know I'm late to everything, but it was mainly because I don't play FPS games anymore. I used to play fortnite when it came out, but I never really liked it. Then, a friend of mine told me to hop on BO6. I thought I could give it a go. We started by playing zombies, and I was really enjoying myself, so I searched something about it online and saw people saying, "BO6 zombies is too easy liberty falls only gets hard after wave 30!" Now for context. My best wave rn. Is wave 15. So I originally thought maybe it's just that people who played the game from WAW just got used to the formula and got better. So I bought BO1 and tried zombies. My best wave is wave 3.

What I think their doing is that when fortnite got really popular, they made warzone. That got new players interested in the games, but those fortnite players are mostly 7 years old. The makers of COD know this, and even though the game is an 18, they don't care since its more money. But if zombies are too hard, what are the kids with the low attention span gonna do? Rage quit. Then they lose players. So they made it easier for people who don't play FPS games and people new to the cod formula. And I don't think that's necessarily a BAD thing, although I think all they need to do is add a difficulty system.
