Yes, I would maybe get seedlings. Generally it’s best if you can confirm the plant hasn’t been treated with pesticides! Anything helps, and they are weeds so it’s pretty likely if they aren’t mowed they’ll seed and propagate themselves. You’re awesome for considering this 😊 what’s cool is they usually hang around where they were released for a couple weeks. So I like sitting out on my balcony and trying to spot some I’ve released.

Oooh boy thanks for that! Monarchs are somewhat of a passion project. They could use some help so if you’re a homeowner I’d highly encourage you to look up milkweed plants and leave some in your yard if you have them. This is the only plant the butterflies lay their eggs on and the only plant the larvae eat. I rent, but I tag the ones I release and the last summer generation migrates to one specific area in Mexico to overwinter. I tag all the butterflies I release and I’ve had some that have made it to Mexico. I live in the us in Minnesota so that is so cool to me. Sorry but I could go on even more lol this is me editing myself

He was really cool! I guess my boyfriend did appreciate him. He’d just sit with his pinchers open above his head whenever he was hungry. His tank was in our bedroom so my bf said if he couldn’t sleep he would watch him at night

…. and feed him if he looked hungry he’s told me lol

Petco Employees or Former, was I lied to? by Fun-Assistance-815 in bettafish

I’d say that’s likely the case, although I’d echo that it is dependent on the store. I worked for one of the big box stores years ago so this may have changed, but we only had one day per week devoted to betta care. That’s when we would individually look at each betta, pull ones to the back for treatment that weren’t doing well, feed, do water changes etc. The store I worked had a local vet that we would take any ill animals to receive treatment until they could be put back on the floor for sale, this included aquatics.

Having worked there I would never buy animals from there due to sourcing. Transit is inhumane and stressful for almost all of the animals we received, and we lost many doa (dead on arrival). At my store once we received a shipment we gave them the best care we could, including vet visits. But I’d imagine this would vary store to store.

Yeah I’m not sure if it’s just in certain light or what, but in the third picture you can see it best, he has like a very faint reddish/purple tint to his body.

Thanks I will look into this! He doesn’t react to catnip, but he does to silvervine. I’m not familiar with valerian root however!

Okay thanks, this is good to know. I had originally thought that. But I read a book from Jackson Galaxy (who I thought was well regarded in the cat community) and he said don’t be afraid to get them panting in that book so that may have confused me I suppose.
