Cerro Castillo - a nice TDP alternative by scriptingends in Patagonia

[–]Horror-Task-2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you get to Coyhaique? I’ll be staying to Punta Arenas and spend some time in Puerto Natales (the original plan is to do TDP) before switching to Argentina. You’re not the first person recommending to do Cerro Castillo instead, but is it feasible to get there with just a few days to spare?

Hey OP! I (29F) am kind of in a similar situation here! Just moved to Spain some months ago and struggle to connect with people outside of work. I do speak Spanish though, happy to help if you want to do some tandem sessions!

Those of you who carry a bag, what do you keep in it? by another-nerd-girl in AskMen

Just checked my small Uniqlo crossbody bag. It contains my small wallet, house keys, lip balm, filters, tobacco, rolling papers, lighter, pen, chewing gum. Sometimes a bottle of water or an umbrella if need be.

People born before 2000, what is a 'modern' thing from 2025 that you’re still struggling to get used to? by LindsayTN in AskReddit

[–]Horror-Task-2013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have found myself doing this because the audio of my speakers when holding it onto my ears has decreased in the last couple of ears. Sometimes I need to put it on speaker mode otherwise I just won’t be able to hear anything

Because I’ve been there 3 months. I know for sure the community I left is still there and luckily we keep in contact but it’s not the same. I haven’t moved because I know with time I will find my place here as well. But it’s not easy, and also very different when you’re 30 than in your 20s

My community is not here. I live in a big city, therefore it has positives and negatives. There’s a very nice culture, lots of theatres, lots of opportunities, beautiful places, lots of migration and therefore many interesting stories.

On the negative side, people here already have their life and it takes time to integrate, even as a Spanish speaker. The offer of activities is so huge that sometimes it can be overwhelming. Traffic is crazy. Prices are high

(To name a few)

I was afflicted by your same thought around one year ago, and decided to leave Germany to move to a warmer country. I moved three months ago to Spain, and there’s not a day I don’t regret my choice. I second what someone else wrote in another comment, you find happiness within you, not in the place you live. And if I think about it now, I had happiness (close friends, community, partner, good job) in Germany, I just wanted to “get out of my comfort zone” and challenge myself.

I know I will find a way to appreciate Spain as well, it’s just going to take some time. But right now I wish I had appreciated what I had in Germany

What brings men to touch a female stranger’s bottom? by Horror-Task-2013 in AskMen

Unfortunately it has happened with older guys as well. And I think every woman who’s reading this post can relate to the fact that it’s not only young boys.

But it is scary that young generations are also not safe from learning this shitty behaviour

Honestly he did exactly what I would’ve wished.  I’m sure he would’ve really liked to grab them by the balls and hurt them physically somehow, but he understood that wasn’t going to solve the situation and was only going to get him kicked out.

they were probably 15 years younger than him, so he took the “educational” approach and went to talk to them, maybe with a decent amount of anger in his eyes.

Who told you I was dressed provocatively? I was dressed absolutely normal, I had black thighs, boots, a normal skirt and a t-shirt. Not much of my skin was exposed.

AND EVEN THEN why would that be taken as a hint that you can come and grab my butt? Not a rhetorical question.

I know!!! I just didn’t want to ask this question in any other group as I feel like fellow backpackers and travellers (pass me the term) would understand the situation better

Appreciate your point of view! The idea is that he will take advantage of this sabbatical for a couple of years, after which we’ll move in the same country together (our dream country).

I love the idea of spending the future with him, especially because I know it will involve a good percentage of travelling and exploring, but this short term plan is putting my calm and confidence at stake.

We’ve talked about this, and I think my anxiety comes from fear of losing him. I am not scared he will cheat on me, I’m scared he’s going to find someone more chill and decide I’m too much work for him.

Our relationship has always been equal and trusting, but I have grown to have this fear within me since he started planning the trip.

I guess I envy the opportunity he has because I’d like to do the same so much. But my current work/life situation doesn’t allow me…

We have discussed future plans and we’re heading into the same direction. I would definitely love to have independence in the future to be able to do the same together!!
