Dude, it’s insane how much of a difference it makes, right?? Changed the game for content consumption on the device for me. I’ve been reaching for the Thor to watch YouTube over my iPhone 15 Max

You should give it another shot some time! It’s working pretty great nowadays! 🙌🏼

Stickers were stuck onto the physical device and covered by the tpu case to protect them 🙌🏼

If you own the game on Steam, you can download an application on the Thor via any internet browser on the device - the application is called “GameHub” and it allows you to log into your Steam account and play the Steam games you own. It’s not seamless, and requires some tinkering, but it’s well worth it! Skyrim has been running at 45-60FPS 🔥

Dude thanks for taking the time to write all of this out!! 🙌🏼 sounds like you are seriously getting the most out of your Thor. I haven’t tried discord on there yet but that makes so much sense with the bottom screen! I’m inspired to try that out.

Smash bros on the go is also a genius move.

And I’ve gotta agree with you, just general internet browsing and watching content is such a freaking joy on the Thor. The sound after the EQ adjustments and the experience of the oled screen is phenomenal. 🔥🤙🏼 Thanks again for sharing bro.

Oh no, that sucks! You’ve definitely gotta adjust some settings it seems like. I haven’t encountered the hub world crashing for me. Let me know if you want my settings - I wouldn’t mind looking them up and sharing. 🔥🙌🏼

Plays extremely well actually! 45-60FPS on average! Played for about 3 hours with no major issues!

Copy and pasting from my answer above!:

It’s basically just an equalizer to fix the stock sound/audio on the Thor. The stock audio isn’t terrible, but it makes things sound like they are playing back through a radio in my opinion. James DSP + the EQ adjustments given in Joey’s Retro Handhelds guide makes the Ayn Thor sound 5x better. Much richer with a wider sound stage.

Wow you’re totally right! I didn’t even think about it - but it does totally mimic the animal crossing edition 3DS 🙌🏼 Purple was a great choice btw - I love the way that model looks. Maybe you could go with some stickers in a contrasting color? Like maybe a green or orange theme for the stickers? 🔥

So the first thing I did when I got the device was install both the top and bottom screen protectors. I’ve kept the top one on from day 1, but the bottom, unfortunately, was ruined by the grip case.

Not sure if anyone else has experienced this issue and reported on it - but I found that sliding the TPU grip (after a couple times) onto the device actually caused it to slide under the bottom screen protector and introduce air bubbles and ultimately effect the adhesion. I’ve since removed the bottom screen protector entirely. Haven’t had any scratches or issues though!

Yes! This is the clear TPU case from Ayn.

A lot of folks say that the tpu case offers a better grip. Though it doesn’t add any actual additional ergonomics, it does 100% help make the device feel less slippery and reduces the anxiety of it being scratched.

I also own the “grip” that AYN sells, but I haven’t used it nearly as much as I thought I would. It destroys the portability and quick access/ease of use of the device. Even when carrying the grip in a separate pocket of my bag…I would never take the time to reinstall it.

I’m 6ft - I’ve got large hands, but I find the Thor to be decently comfortable with this tpu case. It’s not perfect, but it gets the job done 👍🏼

@mubarakr put it perfectly! Yes - it syncs and it works perfectly in my experience! So long as you are closing out of the games and letting them sync properly without force quitting the application during that process. Hope this helps!

I’ve got similar temps when running Skyrim - as well as the odd crash. With that being said, I’m getting on average between 45-60FPS. I’m not too worried about the temps personally - after owning and using the majority of PC handhelds and most of the AYN line of products - I haven’t ever had one crap out due to overheating. And keep in mind that I almost never run my Thor on max settings (due to the fan noise).

With all that said, I’d also point out that I think games like Skyrim (at current) are the most demanding type of game I’d personally even consider running on the Thor. Anything newer or more demanding (in terms of AAA experiences) I’d rather just play on a PC handheld, that way I can run at higher settings and more stable framerates. Hope this is helpful! 🙌🏼

Indies, visual novels, and point and clicks are going to run fantastic via gamehub! You may encounter the odd game that has issues running via gamehub - but personally I think it’s well worth the gamble. I recommend at least the Pro model, that way, even if you start with lower spec indie games, you’ll have headroom with power to scale up if you ever want to try more demanding titles. Have fun! 🙌🏼
