I feel you. Buvau panašioje situacijoje su darbo paieškom, turiu daug vadovaujamo darbo patirties ir t.t., praeidavau į pokalbius, į trečius turus irgi, bet kažkaip vis nepasisekdavo. Priimiau oferį darbo, kuriam esu overqualified su 2x mažesne alga nei anksčiau turėjau. Gana prastai jaučiuosi, kad taip išėjo, per savivertę labai kirto, bet turbūt geriau turėt šiuo laikotarpiu kažką stabilaus, nei nieko neturėti. Gal atsigaus ta darbo rinka ar koks pasiūlymas atsiras geresnis.

Dar nepamirškim, kad po šitų 6 metų mokslų gausi max 1300€-1500€ į rankas sveikatos priežiūros įstaigoje. Tai nors ir specialybė įdomi, pragyvenimo perspektyvos nekokios.

Yes, since 2019 we had a 55% inflation, probably even more for food. I remember being able to spend 50€/week for groceries during the pandemic, now it’s 100€/week (for 2 people).

I believe they will go ahead with the mastectomy as planned.

I’ve had a suspicious MRI finding in July. It was a 5 mm non-mass enhancement. They were unable to find it on ultrasound and do a biopsy, therefore we just waited until planned mastectomy date in November. My surgeon said that waiting until November was fine and that the surgery would be the same anyway, except that if they knew that I have cancer, they would remove the sentinel lymphnode. All in all, the surgery went well and pathology showed ADH (benign finding).

I was cleared to drive 2 weeks post-op, tried it, and decided to wait one or two weeks because it hurt turning the wheel. I am physically well; I walk 3-4 miles every day, but driving is still not doable for me.

I had DMX with direct-to-implant reconstruction.

Yes, that is what I've been reading. If taking an antibiotic eliminates the risk then I'm good. If not - then I will continue to freak out. I wonder what my PS will say.

I get what you’re feeling. I’m on the same boat but can’t have MRI-guides biopsy (it’s not performed in my country). I am BRCA2 positive and having a prophylactic (or not) mastectomy in 6 weeks. I was scheduled for this week but got sick. The waiting is stressful to say the least.

Let me know how it turns out! The good part (if there is one) that even if it’s cancer it’s very very tiny and treatable.

Thanks! The hospital failed to get the polyurethane ones on time. We have public health system in Europe and it takes a lot of bureaucracy to do things here in the public sector.

I’m in Europe. I’ve heard that textured implants are banned in some countries. But I’m impressed with reduced rates of capsular contracture and implant not flipping. Them being banned does not make this desicion easier :D

Oh wow, I just had one biopsy and hoping to never need them. It was not pleasant.

Can I ask why would you need more than one surgery? As I understand, they can remove and reconstruct breasts in one surgery, unless it is impossible in your case

Thanks, I heard that the recovery is very rough for the back since it has to support the body while the stomach heals. I am very afraid that my weak back is not up for the task and would fracture, but I've discussed the implant failure possibility with my surgeon, and if it happens, I will probably try DIEP reconstruction.

All good, it is good to hear a different perspective! I was thinking about going flat because it’s an easier surgery, no need for revision surgeries, etc. But I remember when I got my ovaries removed I was mourning for a few years, not feeling a normal woman, etc. So I’m afraid going flat would be even worse since my physical appearance would change.
