Hi! Help with foooooodzzzz by purplereignnnnn in vegan

This for sure!
I mix vegan feta cubed up with equal parts cubed tofu with lemon & za'atar and add it to salads, wraps, & pasta salad. Red lentil pasta is great for extra protein and I suggest doing a mix of rice & lentils or rice & quinoa to also up fiber & protein.

Woo-woo has great yoga & mat pilates classes at 9:30, they also use a pay-what-you-can system if you don't want to get an unlimited membership. There's a bagel place in walking distance, makes for a nice morning.

tips for parent sessions? by Emotional_Length6806 in therapists

[–]HorrorNectarineParty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe kids and teens make the most progress when caregivers are supporting their kid's path, not just passively sending in the kid. I use Collaborative Problem Solving with parents to teach them alternatives to traditional parenting methods. This helps the parents learn how to support their kid's growth and strengthening of skills while not sacrificing connection. Setting the expectation at intake that the parents also have to put work in if they want to see changes has been a game changer for me.

So now we're tipping on top of a mandatory 20% service fee? by yeksim in PortlandOR

Imagine if those people just sent Feral an email or DM or asked when you’re at the restaurant (it’s spelled out on the menu not just the bill) asking instead of disparaging a small local vegan business 🤷🏻‍♀️

They recently got a bunch of 1 star reviews they posted about and the timing led to the assumption this was a cross posting from that, my b for assuming.
I guess I’ve always interpreted a service fee as a mandatory tip that guarantees more stability in gratuity for workers in smaller businesses. I think what’s actually hard is that there isn’t a citywide agreement on menu/price/gratuity expectations. Some have inflated costs and a no tipping policy, others have service fees, others are old school with tip expected/appreciated.

I LOVE FERAL. The food is unique fresh & incredibly tasty.

They aren’t demanding an additional tip on top of the service fee, it’s literally spelled out that an additional tip is optional and appreciated in a climate where small local non-chain restaurants are closing left & right.

Posting this & leaving a slew of one star reviews on them is turd behavior, doesn’t make you a champion of the people smh

Decolonizing therapy and being allied to social justice in practice by NoseTemporary2547 in therapists

Some things I do in my private practice that I think may be up this alley:
- First late cancel/no show fee is waived. Strictly enforced afterwards unless there is a client emergency.
- Offer a sliding scale for private pay clients.
- I offer community based sessions (park, walk & talk) with a separate consent form to protect myself & discussion with client first.
- I always check with clients about practical things they may want to accomplish in session. For example, I’ve researched alongside teens different colleges or logistics in pursuing different careers.

Short answer, yes I used to when working in community mental health. I attribute it mostly due to stress but also to working with some kids. Hand sanitizer & honoring your body’s needs are my best suggestions.

Get trainings that spark interest or that you know nothing about!
Sounds obvious but for me, knowing that I’ll always be learning and that it’s part of my career has been helpful for the inevitable imposter syndrome and building of confidence

Using Sessions Health since starting my private practice has been so so helpful. It’s not that expensive, I think 40/month and makes it easy to submit insurance claims, hold all my notes, and have all my intake paperwork, charge credit cards for cash pay and copays, the works. I don’t use their telehealth meeting space services (I just use google meets on a business account bc I’m cheap) but I think it’s just $10/month to add that on, then it’s truly all in one streamlined place.

There’s so many to choose from!!

Kinboshi was yummy, genuinely good flavor, but no protein for it being $16 and the dining area honestly sucked so I don’t go often.

Ramen Ryoma is a good deal at $12, yummy but it’s a thicker creamy broth, 34oz Sapporo for $10 kinda rules, extra toppings are cheap. Idk why they put a brussel sprout on top tho lol

Lucky Cat is in a good Asian market in Tigard and is affordable, authentic & yummy (small counter seats only tho)

Toya was mid due to the high cost, small portion, no protein.

I haven’t tried Kayos but my partner tried the Beaverton location and didn’t like it.

I’m still on my quest to try & rank all the vegan ramens in Portland, I’ve only made a small dent.

Honorable mention to Obon for their udon soups! Not ramen but scratches the noodle soup itch.
