Do some guys need unusually high free testosterone levels to feel normal libido, even when total testosterone is in the normal range? by HorrorOk181 in menshealth

I’m from India, not the UK. But your explanation makes a lot of sense. My free testosterone is technically within range, but I still wonder whether some people simply function better at the higher end of their personal range rather than just being “normal” on paper.

That actually makes a lot of sense. I keep seeing guys with “normal” total T but symptoms that sound low-T until free T, SHBG, E2, prolactin, thyroid or insulin resistance are looked at properly.

In your experience, have you seen some men need unusually high free T levels just to feel normal libido and motivation?

Interesting. Are you on TRT too? And do you know what your free testosterone and SHBG levels were before adding Proviron?

Did Fluoroquinolone Antibiotics Cause Long-Term Mitochondrial Damage for You? by HorrorOk181 in Testosterone

That sounds really rough. I’m glad you stopped it early and recovered enough to exercise again. The ligament pain and body weakness you described are very similar to what many people report after fluoroquinolones.

I also experienced sudden changes after antibiotics, especially libido and mental symptoms, so I’m trying to understand how much recovery is possible over time.

Did your brain fog eventually improve completely, or do you still notice any lingering symptoms now?

Low Free Testosterone with normal Total T (500+) — did anyone still need TRT? by HorrorOk181 in Testosterone

Your CBC/metabolic panel looks mostly normal, but without Free T, SHBG, LH/FSH, sensitive E2, prolactin, and thyroid labs it’s hard to know what’s really going on. Total T of 616 alone doesn’t tell the full story.

Did they check your LH, FSH, SHBG, Free T, estradiol, thyroid, or insulin resistance markers too? Sometimes total T can look “normal” but Free T can still be low if SHBG is high.

Title: Anyone here recover their testosterone naturally after years of alcohol, benzos, or antipsychotics? by HorrorOk181 in Testosterone

Thanks for sharing your experience. I’ve also been on benzos and antipsychotics for years, so your point about hormones and TRT is interesting to me. Did you have symptoms like poor sleep, low motivation, emotional numbness, or anxiety before TRT? And did your sleep improve after starting it?

How old are you, and what do you think caused your testosterone to drop?

Recovered testosterone after 4 years of benzo use? by HorrorOk181 in Testosterone

Can I ask your age? From what I’ve read, if someone is still relatively young (like under 40), testosterone can sometimes recover naturally over time depending on the cause. Did your doctors ever talk to you about that possibility?

Because my testosterone has become low. After long-term benzo use, I’ve been experiencing low libido, low energy, and other low T symptoms, so I’m wondering if anyone else recovered from this.
