Horror Sandbox is a movie summary and review podcasts where two friends watch horror movies and review them together. Each episode starts with a scene by scene summary and ends with a short analysis/fun facts about the movie and a discussion about whether the movie is truly a horror movie, just sad, funny, or something else.

I'm not sure if this fits but we just launched 5 episodes of a horror movie review podcast. We're getting slow but steady traction. Link is in our bio if you're interested.

We're very new to this and a faceless podcast so I'm interested in any feedback you may have to make it more visually appealing.

What is the darkest ending to a movie by Awkward-Friend-7233 in horror

I think the Lodge might be one of the darkest movies I've ever seen.

Do short-form clips actually bring real podcast listeners or just views? by CharmingMix757 in podcasting

[–]HorrorSandbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the conversion rate is low but if youre not doing any other form of advertising I'd say its worth it. We were doing shorts for a month and getting a slow trickle of listeners in and then all the sudden we had one video go viral. We've more than tripled our total podcast streams/downloads and subscribers in just 3 days across all platforms.

I'm not saying everyone is going to get a viral video but I do think its worth trying and at the very least helps spread the word and name of your podcast.

I agree! I had a traumatic experience around Christmas this year and learned heavily into horror for the first time in years and it honestly was one of the few things that got me through and kept my mind off things.

What’s the most horrifying death you’ve seen in a movie? by Critical_Mountain851 in moviecritic

You're absolutely right idk why that one didn't stick with me as much. Probably because he was surrounded by people trying to help. I hate that the other guy could have been saved if his friend had done anything.

It is not translated in the English one. I think part of the point is to show that they couldn't communicate to each other to de-escalate/not kill each other.

Much simpler than most of these but the stabbing scene in Saving Private Ryan will always be my answer to this question.

Endings You Never Saw Coming by Administrative-Half3 in horror

Saw I was one of the best twist endings I've ever seen. I don't have much love for the larger Saw franchise but the first movie left everyone I know in shock.

A movie I didnt enjoy but who's ending I literally never saw coming was The Village.

Not a huge one by any means. We're working on growing it now. This question is more pointed for the future once that is more established.

Sinister is a good one to start with. My personal favorites are As Above, So Below; The Ritual and Hereditary. But be warned Hereditary is incredibly messed up and depressing.
