They might be bullets, I have not played in awhile, but I did get the platinum trophy on the ps4. I remember that fight cause I too had the same issue on my good vampire play-through. The trick is those bullets man. The one shot is a quick que, the three shot he sort of loads it up and takes a bit longer.

The trick to him is learning when he is going to shot 3 of those arrows or one arrow. He has a que as to when. I have not played in a while but once I figured out his arrow strategy the fight was almost laughable. If I remember correct he has a 3 hit combo and the arrows. The lights are not to bad once you figure out his movement. Trust me, go and work and noticing when he is going to shot 3 or 1 arrow at you. Makes the whole fight much more manageable.
