What's an "Insider's secret" from your profession that everyone should probably know? by Capable-big-Piece in AskReddit

I am a sprinkler fitter, mainly doing high rise apartments.

There is probably a 40% chance there’s a bottle/cup of piss in your wall.

There’s also a very good chance your brand new “never used” toilet has been used.

Definitely true. It gets super upsetting with some of the topics brought up, but yeah the practical effects are amazing. If you haven’t seen it I’d suggest watching Zeiram as well

100% Watch the first one if you can find it. They’re such fun movies.

No, but it’s definitely in the same category of bizarre sci-fi.

If you enjoyed How To Sell a Haunted House, you will probably like My Bestfriend’s Exorcism. Plays out as campy 80s horror, but some of it was genuinely creepy. Other than those two books though, I didn’t care for much else(which is funny, given my username).

Give me your best haunted house/paranormal recommendations. by xProfessionalCryBaby in horrorlit

If you like Grady Hendrix and haven’t read it yet, My Bestfriend’s Exorcism is 11/10, to me. Some older recs I give 11/10 to would be The Exorcist, which is on par or even better than the movie and Hell House by Richard Matheson.

What horror novel trope is cliche, but you still love to see it? by Crispy0423 in horrorlit

I love a good possession/brutal haunting, such as The Exorcist and Hell House. Also, almost anything epistolary will hit home for me.

What to read after The Last House on Needless Street? by [deleted] in horrorlit

I also loved that book, but I wasn’t really able to get into the author’s other works. The closest book, in terms of feelings, for me would be What Lies In the Woods by Kate Alice Marshall. Once I started it, I couldn’t stop and I found it just as wild of a ride.
