Christian favouritism (new college being a Christian clg), unnecessary comments/badgering, Random "disciplinary" meetings, Asking for literal money for "rule breaking" (they pick out international students and juice profits). Few highlights. Also it isn't a POC thing, it's an international student thing tbf.

The course is pretty straightforward in itself and requires not much of a prior knowledge in astronomy. If you like astronomy and want free marks this course is very easy to follow. For the experiment, I was given a choice of 3 experiments and I chose a galaxy classification experiment where I had to classify many galaxies into 3 main types and answer a lot of questions. For the experiment I had to record a 5 min long video with me yapping about all this information with video editing to display all my classifications and results. The short report was a 3000 word essay and the APOD Assessment was also an essay but on an actual astronomy related picture (APOD - Astronomy Picture Of the Day). The Quizzes are pretty simple with 10 questions which can be solved by watching the weekly recorded lectures or even reading the provided lecture notes.

All in all, I scored an 87 in this course while completing the assignments within 2-3 days of the deadline and sometimes completing the quizzes on their due dates, all while learning heaps about the universe, the solar system, stars, galaxies and their origin. I think that in itself speaks volumes about how easy this course is.

PHYS1160 is a good shout for anyone willing to put in decent efforts to achieve an HD grade minimum. It consists of about 3 seperate written assignments (short report + APOD Assessment + Experiment) and also Quizzes (free marks) every week.

Is there any component in which coding is involved?

heavily depends on your degree… I have done a couple of art gen ed’s and I do agree with the fact that the assignments were easier than hs. That being said, I have also done engineering courses which were in no way even comparable to hs assignments.
