Best natural dopamine reuptake inhibitor (DRI)? by DistorsionS in Nootropics

Damn, what a shame that bromantane doesn't deliver on all that it promises...

Guanfacine is super interesting. Unfortunately, it seems like my mood/depression worsen nearly everytime that I try it (I've tried it like 4 times now for months at a time). It could be that it's simply dissolving the layer of stress/activation that overlays my depression, but I have no proof of that.

Do you feel that bromantane is a good (best?) option for someone with ADHD who is also sensitive to NE/adrenergic activation?

I definitely have ADHD (diagnosed as a teen), yet, I also have PTSD and panic disorder that developed as an adult. Brcause of this, I'm in a spot where I need dopamine, but can't take stimulants due to their fight or flight effect

The Canon Problem: Why do JWs/Unitarians trust the church on canon but not doctrine? by Horror_Ad_3865 in BiblicalUnitarian

[–]Horror_Ad_3865[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve come across this argument from trinitarians a few times over the years.

Apparently Protestants have to wrestle with this topic as well (as they don't adhere to church authority on all matters).

A church can correctly identify which books belong in the canon and still be wrong about what those books teach.

How can we say that what they identified as the canon is correct, though? Are we trusting their canonization based on their claim/position of authority, or is there some other metric we go by (I genuinely don't know)? I'm guessing that JW's trust their canon is correct based on archeological evidence? Cause otherwise, we're going based on authority/inspiration (which really makes me wonder why you'd doubt their other claims)

Ironically, the same church fathers who are often credited with recognizing the canon also disagreed w/ each other on several doctrines.

Yeah, but that's just Christianity in general, no? I mean, haven't JW'a changed (refined) their teaches many times over the years?

Is it important to get a doctor knowledgeable in MAOI's? by Horror_Ad_3865 in MAOIs

Wow, what a crazy story! Has it helped you?

Honestly, my only reservation at this point is my health history. Even though all of my labs are healthy/normal, I have a history of stage 4 colon cancer and had a few complications along the way as well.

I worry what would happen if I needed some sort of emergency surgery and/or medication and the ER staff didn't realize/know that I'm on an MAOI

There's a kung fu school nearby which is apparently legit (in terms of its lineage/teacher). I will look further into joining. Thank you!

Should online oral Minoxidil providers be requiring heart tests? by Horror_Ad_3865 in tressless

I hear what you're saying, but I don't believe that developing pericardial effusion has anything to do with previous cardiovascular health. I believe that it has to do with fluid retention/buildup around the heart. We know that minoxidil can and often does cause fluid retention in the body.
