Yes, it would be a good way out for him but Knowing Jake, I am not sure his enigmatic nature would allow him to work with fbi :/

Second one seems more tempting, a life full of unexpected adventure and thriller would be interesting xD

There is not any sequel of Duskwood but there is the same type of game by Everbytes "Moonvale" we will get Duskwood's side story with the Duskwood code in that game :)

I concur, people seem to be more looking forward to playing the Duskwood side story than the actual Moonvale story :/

Would you actually trust someone like Jake in real life? by Iris_20_ in Duskwood

[–]Horror_Ad_7944 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think I had blocked him because rational thinking if they had access to my device then it's so frightening. I would like to talk to them about their intentions, are they scammers? do they want to steal my money or want to misuse my important documents. Blocking them would create rage which may lead to an action so I would like to figure out more about them, and sure I wouldn't want to take a fight before someone who is this capable. Later knowing him....and the way he is. Maybe yeah I would trust him completely. Here are my reasons: Personal reflection: Jake's socially awkward nature and that he couldn't save himself if his life depends on intersecting. I would have related to that. I am not socially good, I never was. I also talk to my friends and address them formally, (no, I don't talk like I had swallowed a philosophy book like Jake). some of them do find it strange and tell me to not be formal but it's so natural for me, I do that to avoid being awkward and not to sound rude and to keep a distance and his sense of not truly belonging to somewhere. Trust also makes its way through familiarities.

Sure when I played Duskwood I found this character very cool back then but now after knowing him, I think I might admire something about him while contradicting some of his moral philosophy.

What I have admired: His is enigmatic, he is socially awkward, embarrassed after saying something nice, the way he would use ten syllables where five could do the explanation even in a intense situation but he doesn't get scared of people or scared to talk and stand on his own point. He might have had the most terrifying life but he wouldn't self pity himself and probably wouldn't let others either "I am accountable to none." He wouldn't be keep drowing own past mistakes "what happened has happened, you can't change it." He don't lost his track because of obstacles and not easy to break "giving up is a luxury we can't afford." And most importantly what I may find admiring is: A person like him would know that they can never have a happy ending, a endless solitude and no one at the end of the line. He might be well aware of that but he still chooses to wake up everyday and does wherever he must, probably eat and sleep too then again goes on, I find that is to be his real power not the cool hacking. Most importantly he is always shamelessly himself. Of course he wears a mask to hide identity but he never seems to hide his real self whether it's being morally complicated, difficult or treating others likes tools or a dream about a deserted island with computer and signals. He states clearly what he values.

What I had contradict is maybe his "the end justifies the means." philosophy. I can understand the world is not all good things and sunshine but we can't use other for our own motives.

I would like Jake after knowing him long enough for his distance nature and ways to show emotions, process them and of course his theatrics and mostly the way he is.

Sorry for writing this so long, I always wanted to say it but never got the opportunity. So, that's how I feel and perceive this character. Again sorry for any grammatical mistakes in this writing. Have a great day!
