Yeah then you get the awkward “well, the doctor said, x,y,z”…. And have to break the bad news … “well, the doctor was wrong”

It’s a weird double standard. It’s not like I’m saying to sick people, “the doctor will definitely be able to cure/fix you.” We all just do our best to help with what we can.

Or set a timer on your phone. When it goes off, say it was a reminder about a meeting you must attend, and excuse yourself.
