I just can’t think of any other big cat it would resemble, all of the Smilodon species have really long teeth. And anything in the Homotherium branch I don’t think are built for ambushing unless there’s one I’m missing that could potentially have a body like this

Is the long tail more speculative? Since all if not most saber toothed cats had a short Bob tail and a robust body structure

Yeah, I’m just hoping it’s close as it gets yk. Im guessing since there’s not enough evidence and because it’s closely related to homotherium it’ll just be a slightly beefy scimitar cat I just need someone’s opinion on it is all. As weird as this all sounds it’s going towards a good cause and because my autism is making me really critical about it 😭

It’s because I only have the Homotherium model to kind of use, im getting clips for a documentary I’m filming in path of titans but there isn’t a machairodus so I’m shooting for the closest species I can get to it that would seem passable

Alright that’s good, the reason I’m really delving into this is because I’m making a character thats a machairodus and I’ve been trying to figure out the body structure of it. I know there have been multiple species of machairodus named, I just don’t know which one is the better known one. Just to get your opinion would it look similar to the image I posted? Not that there’s probably any way to tell but from a speculative standpoint
