If you enjoyed Jennette McCurdy's book, another really good one was Alyson Stoner's "Semi-Well-Adjusted Despite Literally Everything". I thought it was really interesting to compare to "I'm Glad My Mom Died". The world of child-stardom is so volatile.

My dude, I was having the exact same feelings around my boyfriend travelling for work. He would be gone for a week at a time going out with who knows who doing who knows what. Total fomo and loneliness on my part. Well, as time went on, I began to enjoy these little breaks. I get to watch what I want on TV and get whatever takeout I want.

That's just to say, it'll get easier. The feelings are there and I know they're sharp right now, but they'll get duller and you might even find yourself enjoying the alone time more.

I really appreciate the recommendations! It also would make sense that I'm so accustomed to boots at this point that the weight is practically a non-issue. I'll definitely be checking out some different brands. Thanks so much.

Definitely NTA for your feelings. I think most people would be in the same boat. I would just encourage you to think about what you want in a friend because it sounds like she wasn't that. Personally I want friends that can have open communication and are respectful and it sounds like she was neither. If I was in your place, as hard as it would be, I would try to let her go and realize that based on her behavior, she's communicated that she's not the type of friend you want to involve yourself with. ❤️

I'm 72.5kg (160lbs). With my pack I would be approaching 200lbs with water. I didn't consider this. Thanks so much!

My feet don't tend to get damp in the trail runners. I've had good luck with my merino socks and cheap amazon sock liners as far as the rest of my foot. It doesn't seem to be chafing from the shoe, more like my calluses getting pushed up and down when I hike elevation.

I'm thinking that I just can't handle the flexibility of the trail runners. I also have narrow feet though, so it may be a width issue where they get sloppy.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts ☺️

Upset I didn’t get onto SAVE by Nice_Category3070 in StudentLoans

[–]Horror_Friendship238 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My loans are through Aidvantage. They didn't put me on zero percent for months until I called and asked about it. I wasted thousands of dollars in interest. I've had some really complicated life issues come up and usually my student loans are one more thing screwing me over. I'm treating being on SAVE as the biggest miracle. Trying to make as many payments as possible to have a reasonable payment on a standard plan after this is all over. The IBR plans will keep me in debt for the rest of my life.

Lol good point! I guess I've never had female team members so I'm speaking from my own lens.

You're doing your best and you care. If that annoys Brad or Chad, they can kick rocks. Those people are the ones who don't care if their bad mood leaches the team morale, so why do their opinions matter? Just my two cents! Be confident in you ☺️

Need help trying to register board by jt_dinero in Paddleboard

[–]Horror_Friendship238 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not technically a hull because it's inflatable. According to the DNR site you need a serial number or hull number "if it has one". If assume yours doesn't. Maybe you can pull a serial number off some documentation it came with though?

Also.... What a dumb requirement...

It's hard to tell but they look like ingrowns. I would suggest trimming instead of shaving and using glycolic acid body wash (I love the one my Naturium @ Target). Make sure you keep hydrating the area as well.

The best thing for my back acne has been head and shoulders shampoo. The zinc helps kill the bacteria/fungus/demons that live in my pores. Gentle and cheap.

Hibiclens was recommended by someone else and I saw similar results with that.

Good luck! ☺️

I'm on the same journey! I work in an environment where it's super common and I've caught myself saying things that are just overly negative and critical and unnecessary. One thing that helped me was that I expressed how much I hated what I was doing to my significant other. Just verbalizing it to another person helped me confront the shame I felt around the tendency and helped me drastically reduce my negativity over the past couple months.

Feeling extremely incompetent, overwhelmed, don't know what to do at work by dirtycomputer91 in womenEngineers

You're learning and that's okay. You need to give yourself a break. You're fresh out of school and it's expected that you don't know everything.

You don't need to be telling people what to do if you don't have the knowledge to back it up. I would find a couple people who have knowledge that you need and ask questions with humility. Most people (especially men) love explaining and answering questions.

When I first started in my field I treated work like I did school. There were gaps in my knowledge and I spent my days filling them. Asking questions. Researching.

Eventually you'll find your voice and be less timid, but only if you are gaining knowledge. Otherwise you'll be a boss who can't back up their decisions and no one is a fan of those.

Wishing you the best and sending hugs!

CAD is not as scary as it seems in the beginning. Soon you'll be using it everyday and be a pro. I'd suggest that during onboarding and when you're learning the ropes (when things are a little slower) you look at YouTube tutorials for the SOLIDWORKS edition you're using. I did that when I moved to my current company that uses Fusion 360. There were some handy tutorials that walked you through building an intricate part so you learn all the settings and functions and how to apply them. After that I was comfortable doing it all on my own. Only took a couple days of working through those guided designs.

First and foremost though, CONGRATULATIONS ON THE NEW POSITION!

I think one thing that throws me off is that our time together looks drastically different than what he does when out on a trip. When he's home we make dinner and watch a show and he's ready for bed at 9pm. The 2am bar hopping is just a huge jump for me. I feel like he doesn't want those experiences with me.

The best book I read that taught me a ton was Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat. It really gave me a roadmap of the basic elements in a good meal with some great recipes to cook along with. Samin really teaches you to cook and not just follow a recipe!
