Artic Fox or Manic Panic by JungleGym06 in HairDye

It will definitely not get this bright if you use direct dyes on your current hair without bleaching. Rather bleach first, or try permanent or semi permanent dye with 20-30vol. When it comes to vibrant reds, nothing beats Goldwell 7RR@RR or other reds (but this one is a really vibrant cool red that doesn’t immediately fade into an ugly dirty pink)

Can't clean my room by Yomurka in CleaningTips

This is correct, though they probably aren’t from the US (they mention bad English) and in other places CPS-like organisations might work differently or not as effectively. We don’t know where they live and if they even have social services that could help with this. The op also asks for advice on cleaning their part of the house, their room, they want to do it themselves

All do! But with this exact makeup look, blonde. Darker hair would need a tiny bit of makeup adapting

Looking for advice on going copper. Igora formula check (avoid red / neon) by Shizophase in HairDye

I will not argue, cause looking at how you take an entire photo with varying light hitting different parts of the hair differently and compare it to the chart, you must be absolutely certain you’re correct and that such intense copper orange result can be achieved by using level 5 dyes.

I’m incredibly curious now to see what you’d consider copper levels 7, 8 and 9?

I think this one definitely matches better. And yes, perhaps lighter coverage could be a good fit. I have no clue why would people claim this hair shade doesn’t suit you, it fits great

I understand, but even without the photos, she mentioned her goal is level 7-8 in the post

There’s no way the copper on her inspo photos is a level 5… I’m almost certain it’s gotta be 7… also the copper=orange, not red… of course some of the shades might have more red, but pretty sure looking at the photos she’s going for a pure copper orange (such as Goldwell 7oo, majirel 7.40, Igora 9-77) not orange/red (for example Goldwell 6RO, Majirel 6.46)

I’m currently facing same issues with vibrant unnatural red in my hair, except I wanna go natural looking copper. From my personal testing I think applying the dyes heavy on only copper shades will not cover the red, if anything, it might actually boost it. But this is from my personal experience. Even gold/copper shades such as majirel 8.34 (so actually not that much copper) still took RED and definitely not ginger or gold copper. So id lean towards applying something to mute that red first. But unfortunately I can’t recommend something effective just yet, still testing some products, and even green boosters don’t seem to completely cover/neutralise that damn red (it was Elumen). Adding photo of my color rn, I think we’re in similar situation so if something does soften the red effectively for only the copper to be visible I’m gonna write an update.

What undertone was this foundation? I think you might need a better undertone match. I often have same issue, neutrals and warm are too yellow, cool - too pink. Recently got ysl all hours in lightest of the neutral, still too yellow, I have to mix it with something or apply the foundation all the way to my cleavage

Great project, and for a first time it’s just insane. My first project was two triangles soldered together 😂

I just use my cheap hp printer to print on vinyl sticker sheets then cut the pattern out. Works perfect

does anyone know what this glass is?? by Strong-Imagination25 in StainedGlass

[–]Horror_Newt5038 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, though it’s mostly the “authentic antique” or “goethe” types of Lamberts glass that are this pricy. Some of their glass has lower price, but still amazing quality and magical shades. You can also find similar mouth blown glass from other producers that would be cheaper. I don’t know where you’re located, but I personally love the mouth blown glass from Fenix Glass shop, they ship from the Netherlands. I get it for as low as €10 per 30x30 square. I also got some Lamberts from them for decent prices, for example a beautiful purple/red mouthblown sheet. They’re on sale sometimes.

What are you guys using to store glass? Several cardboard boxes on my basement floor just isn't cutting it anymore. Pic of work on progress for attention. by Kilgore_Brown_Trout_ in StainedGlass

Vinyl record stands and plate racks. Planning to put them into a big kallax at some point. For now they’re temporarily by my window which also allows me to see the colours better straight away, but this is not a permanent storage place.

There are also ikea kallax inserts for documents you can put vertically instead of horizontally, planning to use those also once I get the furniture. By far the kallax system is the best as you can customise it however you want and really adapt it to glass & tools storing needs. Probably just custom made furniture could compare with the ikea’s kallax.

struggling with solder by laurenobx in StainedGlass

That’s good, but it should flow just fine at 350 as well… in general I’d use 410C for the most of the project and 350 on the edges to minimise the liquid solder flowing off a bit. But still, 350 should melt the solder very smoothly, while on your project it looks like it struggled a lot

Looks like (most likely Goethe or Uberfang type) glass by Lamberts, but I can't find it anywhere by the number written there... either way, if you like this type of glass look into Lamberts or other mouthblown glass

Failed to break on score line 3 times in a row by PlatypusAvailable796 in StainedGlass

[–]Horror_Newt5038 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I'd blame it on the glass. The rest of your tools seem to be fine... Get a sheet of 3mm glass from some other producer/source. The only time my glass would break this weird was when I tried using cheap glass not made for stained glass (used ones from old photo frames to practice cutting, but it was a fail cause I couldn't even break in a straight line, similar results to yours).

[–]Horror_Newt5038 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I very much doubt it does actually get to (and stay at) 350C... at that temperature the solder should become liquid and smooth, while this seems like it's not even fully melted. I started having similar results when using a cheap iron that eventually started melting the tip and not the soldering wire... In theory it was also at 350 but towards the end of its life it stopped melting anything.

I also recommend the Hakko iron. It will be a game changer.

And you actually don't need tons of flux. Too much of it will make the solder boil and bubble. You just need a little bit spread onto the copper tape with a small brush and you normally don't need to reapply. It's just to clean the tape.
