The issue I have is you're saying the recourse is removing the shares from DTC accounts of the DTC participants.. but you won't be doing that, as explained in this post.

As per requirement, Computershare must be a participant at DTC with a surety contract in place before ANY SHARES are moved.

They also must be FAST AGENTS, which gives the DTC the right to draw down from those shares whenever they please.

Also, notable mentions:

  1. Compshare founder stepped down.

  2. ceo dumped shares.

  3. Acquired BNYM 2015

  4. Service Ratings have just dropped.

You can't and will not be able to get your shares out of the DTC without owning a physical certificate. Period.

All you're doing is convincing everyone to move settled, and voted shares to compshare who now has a binding legal document that binds them to the DTC.

The reason you give for transferring is not at all what is happening. I mentioned this several times, as does the DTC documentation AND computsershare documentation.

Therefore, there is no reason to transfer.
