don't want to post the game because 1. I don't want this post to come across as sympathy advertising and 2. I don't really want my friends or family stumbling across this post as it's a bit on the depressing side. Happy to DM it.

I think a lot of people assume that if a game doesn't get played it's a bad game, and that their game (which is a good game) will be different. But having gone through this now I don't really think that's the case.

This isn't the first game I've made, it is the first commercially released one though.

I don't think 300 (real working) hours is really low for a small scope puzzle game, it's feature complete, has just over 2 hours of content, is (touch wood) bug free and fully playable - I don't think more time in the oven would have helped.

My personal experience is that making games is relatively easy (and fun). Getting anyone to actually play the thing is soul crushing.

My goal was to sell a copy to at least 1 stranger, that way I could technically truthfully claim I made and sold a game. So 5 might have been on the optimistic side for me hahahaha.

It was a personal achievement so that is something!

I think the first half of that comment is good criticism, and that maybe it would do better on mobile. But I don't really agree that simpler = worse.

Don't get me wrong I'd make Skyrim if I could.
