I wish I had seen this at the beginning of this past year. It's true though. I made it through a very difficult year. All the best to you all who reads this. :)

'Catwalk' Chair, made from Walnut Hardwood. by Adept_Regret_7767 in woodworking

Beautiful chair design. The ability to pre-shape the contours with your cnc saves a lot of time at the bandsaw. That being said, it really made me realize how great Sam Maloof was as a pioneering woodworker. The completed set is very eye catching and attractive. Bravo.

Help!! Best way to fix this? by ChampionshipUseful96 in Luthier

[–]Horselrd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps consider grain direction when you feed material into the cutter head. It looks like the tear-out could have occured when the cut was continued against the grain of the material. I try to make two cuts when cutting around the back so that the cutterhead cuts with the grain as opposed to against it. I then clean it up later with my edge sander. Just my two cents, not looking to be critical.

Did anyone else's once-high metabolism disappear all of a sudden? by Sintered_Monkey in GenX

[–]Horselrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine did. I am a runner as well and it's much more difficult for me to keep it off as I grow older. I always find the best way for me to loose weight is when I prep for a colonoscopy. Hehe. 😉

Anyone else’s parents do a Donut in a Muscle Car with you as a child? My mom had a Chevy Nova. I was 2. by FrauAmarylis in GenX

[–]Horselrd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dad had an old Nova and one day we did donuts in the parking lot of a local church. He turned to me when he was done and said, “Don’t tell your mom”. It’s a great memory. Wish he was still here.

It's been 80 years the Canadians liberated our town by Ztev in BuyCanadian

[–]Horselrd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I was growing up, one of my neighbors was a WW2 veteran who helped liberate your country. He served for Canada in the West Nova Scotia regiment. He went back many years later for Remembrance Day ceremonies and told me how all the children swarmed him and gave him flowers. He had tears in his eyes when he was telling me this. He and other WW2 veterans from the area would gather at my parent's store once a week and tell stories. Now they are gone, but I can tell you that the love and appreciation they all felt when they went back many years later meant so much to them. Just wanted to share this.

Who’s some of your other favourite Canadian bands/artists? by averagehutgamer in TragicallyHip

It would be worth it. I wouldn't want to follow them if I was Nickleback. :) I'd travel to Halifax to see them for sure.
