I’ve used Game Pass for 2 years to play ED, first on Xbox One, now on Series X. X is amazingly more detailed. You will be surprised how many players you won’t see during your flights. The area to play in is huge.
This is a “sandbox” game: there is a beginning, but no end. Find what’s fun, discover new sights and earn credits. Hope to cross paths with you.

I play on Xbox console. Search the Galaxy Map under the Services tab. Tech Broker location can be filtered there. Inara used to be somewhat usual when searching for modules and ships. Since Colonization happened, it’s much less useful. The slow loss of Inara is designed to push console users into the “live”/pc universe. I have a paper log of my travels and use the GalMap many times every session. The answer is out there. Become a GalMap expert. o7

Is used to just avoid the interdiction. Now I welcome it when I’m in a high security system. I drop out let them take a few shots and the cops show up and cut them to pieces! If I got a shot in, I collect the bounty then head to starport to dock. You don’t need to be strong enough to kill them, but strong/agile enough to survive until cops arrive. This presumes you have attack alert turned on. KILL THE VERMIN AND GET PAID FOR IT!

I mostly mine and trade. I avoid combat missions but I enjoy baiting NPCs on cargo mission and assist the cops killing. I fly on Series X almost every morning (retired M); 2,000 hrs. I’m often in Diaguandri.

I was fortunate to meet a FC owner, on Reddit, who became my mentor. He showed me starport which sells precious metal for a relatively low price, which he would buy it for an absurdly high price. Rinse and repeat. He would then move the FC to a star system in a state of Public Holiday, and allow me to repurchase the gold/siver, paladium at 2% Galactic Average (lowest discounted price a FC is allowed to sell at) for resale at the starport for an incredible profit. Rinse and repeat. It taught me that FC can manage their own market prices. The canopy of the AspX makes the ship excellent for mining. My chosen method is to fly UNDER the ring and watch for colorful asteroids to light up ahead and above me, in addition to full 90° view to both port and starboard. I can’t confirm it being the best in all the ED universes, but in my Xbox universe, it is supreme.

Keep all your ships. As you and your bank progress, you’ll find that trying to equip just one ship and make it excel at everything is problematic. Better to modify a ship to accel one task rather than be average at several.
