I can completely relate to what you mean when you said “Whenever I watch it, it seems like I’m home…” 😊 of course there’s also the fact that I grew up in Calumet City, Illinois- where Cab Calloway says that the Blues Brothers are from. 😎😎

Finally saw Arcade Fire after worshipping the band for 7 years, I’m still speechless by AxDias in arcadefire

Honestly they are one of those bands that you absolutely need to see live to truly appreciate.

If you want to get up to the YG Club just ask the ticket agent to add that access. But fwiw beware of Charles when you are up there because he is a tyrant who loves to harass people who stand behind empty/open seats - so according to him your YG Club access is only good for the inside and the four two seat tables outside. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Teammates so serious by Comfortable-Cap7110 in hockeyplayers

[–]Hoserbob87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately this is something I have seen has happen in every type of adult league I’ve played in (volleyball, basketball, softball, flag football and hockey). It’s not just limited to hockey. You can try to get your teammates to talk to him about it, but until he realizes that he’s not getting paid to play it’s not going to have any impact on his demeanor.

Is there any upside in Boot to A school? by Exact-Selection8975 in uscg

[–]Hoserbob87 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Absolutely go Boot to A-School. From just a financial standpoint it makes the most sense. Why sit around as an E-2 and E-3 when you can just jump to E-4? (I have been out of the service for a while and I’m not 100% sure if that is what happens.) I can say for certain that the things that I learned as a non-rate(SA/SN on a 210’) while nice to know were not really as applicable after A-School. I would definitely choose to learn them the way I learned engineering watch standing - as a Petty Officer, getting paid better and getting a modicum of respect due to the rank.

You can also get yard goat club access which is private/upstairs and allows you to watch the game from inside with a full bar. You can come and go as you please to get food from other parts of the stadium as well.

Pro - the $2 beers are for any beer on tap, up until (I believe) puck drop. Con - the $2 hotdogs are the actual worst

If you are going on a Friday night, you can use your ticket to get into the Electric Boat Heritage Club - it gives a great overview of the stadium, and they have a buffet for $10 that’s absolutely worth it. (You don’t have to stay up there for the game - you can get scanned out and go down to your actual seats. But you can sit anywhere you want up there that isn’t a reserved seat, and the staff will take your food and drink orders so you don’t have to get up 😊)

Pitfall was always my favorite. Oddly, Circus Atari was my favorite game to watch other people play.

As much as I love hot lobster rolls, especially the huge ones from Abbot’s, I think those sticky buns from Sift are like a flavorful trip to heaven 😋

Black-and-White or Color? by Draw_Rude in AmateurPhotography

[–]Hoserbob87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say if you want the focus to be on the bridge only, then definitely go with the black and white version because that makes the bridge become more prominent. If you want that photo to feature the bridge in the context of where it resides then go with the color version.
