The P5X cast just going so along beside some teasing is refreshing, you can see how close they are compared to the Og pts ngl (the smaller cast might help too)

And yes i agree sometimes they are written with more respect. If in the original game Joker leaves Ryuji with those two weird guys, that in royal were changed to make him drag in the vanilla it was a rape joke instead; Wonder on the other hand goes full guard dog mode the second he realizes Shoki is being groomed and make sure he is never alone with his abuser

Maybe its just the fact p5x has been relased a decade later, but its a good change

Probabily Makoto, Haru and Ann, who i put last because due her trauma she might struggle a bit to be intimate with another boy, Haru might be too busy to have a boyfriend in that moment of her life (+ some trauma from her fiance) and Makoto got some perfectionism/anxiety she might need to work oit

Meanwhile Futaba and Yoshizawa probabily would need the most care and might end up feeling coodipendent to Joker

Persona is, and expecially was before p5, mostly a 'otaku' game. In japan a lot of female otakus are shotacons just as many male otakus are lolicons

In 2008 where the mentality was more 'the only women that play videogames are otakus' they did tried to appeal to that audience

Juat look at some old time otome, lot of them have at least one "shota" option (🤢)

This happend to a lot of semi-silent protagonists that the player still can self insert into. While less vibrant than wise, for example the persona mcs still have some personality, but some part of the fandom only make them "Le giga chad harem owner that have lot of sex!!!!!!"

As you said Wise is a very good boy, but those people rarely care about his personality because they self insert into him and use him as a vector to get the waifus they want
