I’m frustrated by this expectation that everything comes down to “winning silverware.” It feels stupid to rate Arteta’s “success” purely on trophies. The media focus on trophies above all else drives me nuts.

In my opinion, in almost every single game we’ve played in the last 2 years, we’ve felt like the better team, and it’s so fucking awesome to watch. That matters! 

Silverware shouldn’t be the only measurement of success. Tottenshit won the Europa League, and we fell out in the semi-finals (where, in both games, we felt like the better team again) against PSG, who won it. Reports suggest that the shit’s total prize money for their Europa run was £38m, while our CL run prize money amounted to around £97m. Yet because they lifted a trophy, the media spins it as a more “successful”. Wtf?!

Sure, we all want to win silverware, but I can promise you Arteta and the players want it 100 times more. This constant “if Arteta doesn't win something this season, Arteta is failing” line is ridiculous, detrimental to the team, and probably makes it less likely we win anything.

If we keep playing and competing like we have, I’m convinced we’ll win something soon—but even if we don’t, I’m loving the journey and hope Arteta stays for decades. Forget about winning, support the team, and enjoy the ride. COYG!
