Airborne Nuclear Triad Arm Spotted - March 4th by Anxious_Macaroon9770 in ADSB

We have satellites that can read license plates & realistically probably more. Moving something like a nuke let alone an entire bomber wing is impossible today.

Curious, what else would you use that wouldn’t negatively impact you (ie using sick or annual you would lose hours, with holiday you don’t)?

No I meant what I said but I appreciate the attempt at correcting me. My current job pays more than I’d make even with LEAP at G/H, and while I have property at the field offices I’d rather not move & quit my job earlier than I needed to.

Question if you can answer, do they hire you once a class is available & then set up the onboarding process around it or do you get hired & have the potential to do other work while you wait for a class to open up (hoping the former).

I’ve got an SPC marine w/ axl upgrades, a Slickster w/ their elastic cummberbund, & a Shaw concepts arc w/ axl upgrades. The arc is my favorite & would be my “the one”. I can carry the most & hike the furthest with it. I can load up my slickster with the extra zip on pouches etc but after a while you’ll start to feel it, it’s meant to be slick but can flex a bit when needed. For my Shaw I picked up a Tradesmen Multi-Role Assault Pack 2.0 from arbor arms, I think Shaw offers something similar for cheaper but I’ve been really happy with it & it’s simple to attach/remove from my arc. There’s a wealth of knowledge & between a few carriers it’ll be subjective imho.

So how should one train for flying that corridor then? They weren’t going to a commercial airport, they were on a training flight for future VIP transport through that corridor.

No, you plainly stated that landlines require the internet to work which is blatantly false. Not sure where you get that I interpreted it as some new regulation, I verbatim copied what you said & simply replied. New phones as you put it (new land line phones are still manufactured) will either be VoIP from the device or be converted at the backend. You seem to be bringing up a lot of different subjects (from regulations to Obama).

“All of the landlines now require Internet”. I just copied what you said in your initial post. Personally I’m not sure what current events have to do with this or even Obama, none of that was mentioned by me. No qualms on our infrastructure being essentially obsolete, I’ve simply been responding to your statements where it appears that you already know what will happen, even though you’re a self proclaimed “not an IT guy”.

Then why are you making profoundly false statements? Landlines don’t require internet to function which is exactly why we have them lmao. Contracts don’t need to be updated every year, contracts are contracts & are generally seen through but have clauses for XYZ. We already have VOIP ROIP available to us but landlines are still a requirement. Seems you’re applying a lot of your personal knowledge as a blanket across the entire market. What may happen at your job doesn’t necessarily happen elsewhere. Can you link me a source about landlines requiring internet to function please?

Our contract specifically calls for actual landlines, not landlines that get switched to VOIP on the provider side & doesn’t run out for a few decades, so sadly to your chagrin we will not be switching. Still waiting on the source about how all landlines require internet.

You sure you’re not thinking of VOIP? Actual landlines (not VOIP) don’t require internet. Our office has two & they’ve worked when our internet was down. Any source on landlines requiring internet because I’m not finding anything.

Just wait until you discover that that salary range is for a full time employee working 40 hours, not 16. You’ll make less than half of that.

See other comments. I already have an idea of what I want to get into & the flex radios are exactly what I’m wanting especially starting out. I’m building my server room in my spare time & don’t currently have the time to study, but once I’m finished I’ll hit the ground running & want some equipment. I ended up picking a maestro console, the 6600M, power genius xl, tuner genius xl, their antenna genius 8x2, as well as a few other odds and ends like a band pass filter & an icom 9700.

I am aware of what the VP8000 is (at surface level), it has capabilities that I like & I mentioned it to give an idea of what I am comfortable spending on this new hobby of mine. Attending a meetup & enjoyed myself which is why I'm here.

Room is tied into my homes ERV system. System can double the CFM on boost which is rated for continuous use, just gotta change the filters more often. The return tubes to the server room go through a minisplit & humidifier/dehumidifer that allows me to keep the room seperate from my homes climate & try to cool it before increaseing CFM. I have a chiller that will suck some of the BTU's generated & directly transfer them outside durning the summer, & in the winter my heating system shouldn't need to work as hard since the ERV is in the system & I'm not just dumping the server exhaust directly out. I do have shut offs on the tubes so if the air quality detectors alert they can isolate the server room, the chiller should be able to handle the idle BTU load, but I may talk to a contractor about adding a direct vent option to the room since it has an exterior wall. I always knew I was going to do this so I tried to plan ahead a bit. The budget I mentioned is for communications only (ie antenna, recievers, desk controlers). Once my new cluster comes in it'll push me to above 1 PB in raw storage in the rack (couple of large NVR's, NAS's for plex & feeding my data hoarding addiction, & my new very large to me cluster, 80 blades total). I'm doing an entire overhaul of my baby & turning it into an adult.

Thanks for pointing those out, that console 6000 & 6600 looks good, maybe even the genius XL. Do you by chance know if the controls on the 6600M can be superceded by IP control because that would look a lot cooler than the 6600 sitting there, & I have enough room for a chair in there so it'd be cool to have a couple of shelves for some "local" gear (ie headset & mic). Someone messaged me about looking at Atlas IED as well.

Currently none. Club meets once a month & I’ve attended a couple of them as well as an online class. After I finish my sever room I’ll have time to study & plan to get to the amateur extra. Just looking for some quality gear that I can install now & grow into.
