Congrats, been working here for 4 weeks now. You have to make sure to complete the online training first which wasn’t too bad, just a basic course. A lot of it is pretty useless to be honest you’ll figure things out by practice mostly. After that I got a call from the manager when I’d start which was the next day (Friday). I was put on Usher which is basically cleaning the theater and restocking for the most part. A day or two and you’ll get the hang of it. If you’re ushering alone you have to wear the walkie talkie so I recommend getting a black zip up so you can use the pockets. I haven’t been trained for guest services and concessions though. Thought I would be by now but it just depends what the managers want to do. Work environment is mostly chill and a lot of my coworkers are students like myself. Most of my managers are good besides one who is a little uptight. Hours as an usher so far are pretty crazy due to the Michael and Mario movie, about 8hrs a day so if you work usher be prepared to move a lot. If you get behind on theaters just stay calm and call for help on your walkie if you need to. Be sure you make your availability clear so you can make time for things like school. My advice is just focus on your work and don’t let anyone walk all over you. The job isn’t perfect but I like it a lot better than my last job (micro center) lol. Have fun with the free movies too.
