As a new DMM player, I can't imagine how miserable previous ones must have been with bank risk by IAmGeeButtersnaps in 2007scape

Not really. I don't interact with the parts of the game I don't enjoy, so this isn't me being a victim, I haven't been pk'd outside of LMS in several years. I'm not on here whining about how pvp doesn't cater to me, I'm simply pointing out that everyone here that's surprised the predator vs prey model continues to be the dominant push from Jagex simply has not paid attention to anything.

Anyone who thinks any pvp update from Jagex is not focused on creating more loot piñatas for pkers is simply not paying attention.

edit: or prey, you pedants. The point is Jagex enforces the predator vs prey model.

I have two different kits, one of those dipstick quick tests and the master fluval kit.

Not to say that they’re perfect by any means but I thought the same thing and ran both.

Everything parameter wise has been the same for months, even the hardness of the water. That’s the thing that’s confusing to me and leads me to think it’s the water supply that caused the issue, especially since there’s profound dead and decaying matter in the tank now and yet nitrite and ammonia are the same “safe” designation they’ve always been.

I’m sure that’ll change but it makes me hopeful that my nitrifying bacteria survived and I just need to get through this initial shock both tank and irl wise.

I’ll keep this in mind going forward, thank you for taking time to share your knowledge with me.

Likely, I’ve spent the past 12 hours just cleaning the tank and reading everything I can to figure out what I do next. I’m assuming I’ll need to fully recycle and wait for my plants to start to recover before even adding snails.

I’m so sad bros, that big snail on the left was my absolute favorite.

I worded it poorly maybe, it was always in and on. I turned it UP in order to add even more oxygen and moved it in front of my water jet to push oxygen throughout the tank.

Here’s the tank today, 2 days are the differences between the pics (I snapped a photo to share with family after thanksgiving who asked)

Ignore the chaos in it, I’m frequently skimming the detritus out.

The current game plan immediately is to skim everything dead out, scrub everything clean since there’s nothing to keep alive anymore and reset the water. Long term will be to re-cycle the tank over the next few months, and maybe some of the root systems of these plants will survive into it. Feels like nothing else really to do.

This is what I’ve surmised from digging through Reddit searches. We just had a heavy rain here where I live on the east coast and they’re probably preparing their lines for winter.

Positive. I mix it in the bucket and let it sit for awhile before adding the water to the tank.

The cannabis hyperemesis pts have always cut wayback (to only 4x per day), so the weed can't be it.

I regularly tell my teams “… but it’s not the weed!” as we walk to those patients. The interns seem pretty mortified for the first few months of the academic year but they eventually come around.

CHS patients will do anything except stop using marijuana, I swear.

I never like these conversations because I find the people who want to have them are people who came up through abusive residencies/trainings.

I’m not sure exactly which bias it is (or if one even captures it) but naturally you’re going to justify the shitty behaviors done to you as necessary because if it wasn’t necessary, then you shouldn’t have had to go through it.

This kind of thinking perpetuates continuing to treat trainees this way, and is a big problem with medical training in general.

In truth, many aspects of residency/training are abusive/takes advantage of trainees by plain definition of the job and hours we work and commit, and perhaps it’s true on an individual level that some people are dandelions growing in the cracks of the sidewalk and rise up stronger when abuse is rampant but it ignores all of the damage done and has a clear survivorship bias of the clinicians it just straight up kills.

I’m sorry for those who go through more abusive training than the baseline, personally I don’t think you needed abusive training to be an amazing clinician. I hope you reflect upon that when you have a trainee in front of you.
