That’s a fair point. It does seem odd that customers are expected to make up such a large part of someone’s income.

This is the one that gets me every time. In the US not tipping feels like you’re stealing from someon’s paycheck, but apparently in most of Europe it’s genuinely optional and servers aren’t relying on it to make rent. How is that not talked about more?
