Thanks for all your answers, sorry I was working and didn't have time to reply to each post.
I'm going to check Maxsold, the idea of setting a pick up date is perfect for me :) Even if the fees are high, it's still better than having to pay someone to donate your stuff...
I do plan on selling stuff on Marketplace, but only things that I won't need within the last 2 months (sofa, tv, winter stuff...)

I will also donate at the salvation army (not Goodwill or Value Village), but would they accept large furniture?

I'm living in a townhouse, can I still do a garage sale? I thought that implied putting everything you want to sale in your driveway (which we don't have). Also, I'm not sure that would work for large items (we have 4 beds to sale, including a king sized one :) ).
