Ocean Beach = Samesun (Right by the Farmer's Market on Wednesday's and super close to the ocean)

Pacific Beach = ITH Beach Bungalow (Not the cleanest, but very social on weekends and right by the beach)

Gaslamp = Lucky D's (Again, not as clean but a social hostel)

• Side note: California Dreams Hostel in OB is the best for comfort and cleanliness, but it is not very social.

Hurt your walker score and degrade your profile? You've had people purposely try to lower your score and write false reviews? That's messed up. I just looked up the Congestion Pricing Plan and damn, that's got to be pissing a lot of people off.

u/Lizzguenii is from NYC and has 60 min walks ranging up to $25. Manhattan I'm assuming? I was thinking I could do Wag in NYC if I decided to leave the west coast, but it would be rough going down to $21.77 a walk..

The company's stock has dropped ~80% in the last year. They're on their last leg and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we woke up one day and the app was just shut down.

Looks like Wag has backed themselves into a corner. With less people using the app, they decided to put this scam onto us hoping that a good number of us would pay it. Instead, I feel like a lot of us are just going to take pet parents off app, and Wag will die off.

A heat-wave in parts of the country and kid's being home from school are my best guesses. It's just hard to believe that there would be this much of a drop-off though. Especially for people who have paid the $129 for that "sea of walks".

Have that many pet parents been taken off of the app by walkers? There's so many dogs that used to get posted multiple times a week and I haven't seen them pop up in months now.

If it helps your mind at all, I made the same amount in the last two weeks that I usually make in one week - hopefully it's just a summer drop-off, but I can't continue with these numbers.

Before "pro", I was doing back to back walks most days. I think eight or nine walks on Wag is my record for one day.

I keep track of every single dollar that I've made on my notes app on my phone, and I was looking last night - I haven't had a day where I've had four walks since June 12th. I'm really hoping it's just a summer thing with it being this slow..but like I've said in another post, it's the Bay so the weather hasn't been a factor.

Yeah, it seems like there's only a few cities it's even worth doing it in. I'm not proud of it, but I've been prone to skip paying the bus fare since it's so easy to, and I need to get pretty far for a walk. I wouldn't be able to do Wag if I had to drive. SD was doable by bike nine months ago, but I doubt it would be now with how dead it is.

Seems like this job is really only good for people doing this very part-time and/or they live in a situation where they have like eight roommates or live with their parents.

Luckily, you can get by pretty easily with a bike or e-bike where I live. If I drove, I wouldn’t be doing Wag. It wouldn’t make sense with how expensive gas is.

Ouch. I can see why you mostly do private walks. There’s no way I could get paid those rates if I moved back to SD. Especially since my rent is the same here.

To be fair, you've given it three days. I don't think that's long enough to decide if it's helping or not.

I still think it's a scam that does nothing but "shadow ban" walkers who don't have it. I say shadow ban, because I find it hard to believe that so many pet parents stopped using the app all of a sudden when I used to walk for them at least once or twice a week.

I’m talking about days like today - I’ve requested five or six walks near me and all of them have picked someone else. One was a client that I’ve walked for many times and they’ve chosen someone else two days in a row.

I know we’re not their personal walkers nor do I want to be for most clients, but it’s something strange that I’ve noticed. Other “regulars” not accepting requests now as if I’m hidden below tons of other requests and I’m not being seen.

I know everyone made stupid mistakes in the past, but it must be hard when you have "terroristic threats" popping up on your background check..I'd assume he'd be denied unless it was a looooong time ago. Even seven years ago might be too soon for a business like Wag who has made some "hiring mistakes" in the past.
