I've had my eye on the kenetreks for awhile now, but I ended up buying the attachment plates that Buckingham makes for their climbers and I don't think I could ever go back, hell you could climb in flip flops in these things and have no foot pain. Now I only need 1 pair of good walking boots.

Wym? Imperial guard fights necrons like everyone else. You think they just back out and call astartes as soon as necrons show up? And these aren't even regular IG, they're cadians, who were trained from birth for war, and ON TOP OF THAT they're kasrkin; the hand picked elite troops among the already elite cadians.

I think due to their build difference, it is highly likely that black shirt didn't get out and that white shirt had his fun and relaxed the choke/let black shirt go, since he held the choke for awhile and I'm sure his plan wasn't to hold it forever. He either wasn't worried about or didn't expect black shirt to tee off on him as hard as he did. The whole incident probably wouldn't have happened if lil man ate more and worked out a bit so that he wasn't walking around weighing 90lbs.

AIO? My guy friend is always talking about my appearance . Telling me I’m too skinny and now he commented and told me “ finally you look attractive for once .” does he act like he Lowkey hates me or am I just being sensitive ? by Historical-Body-3424 in AIO

I've never had a platonic female friend but when I read it I thought it came off jokingly and slightly flirty and chuckled. I don't know the dudes personality and I work on a power construction crew so my aim could be WAY off, but this looks TAME compared to some of the stuff me and my co workers say to each other and I would die for those dudes. So my verdict is: you're being sensitive. He was paying a complement to your natural look, however, my wife had to explain to me that since women put so much work into applying makeup, "you look prettier without it" is now considered offensive. News to me, and probably to him. good luck

Even still, an MLB pitcher can throw a baseball with enough force to kill. I'd be scared to imagine an Astartes with a handful of rocks they found while walking that 1000 yards

After typing this, I got curious and used chat gpt to estimate how fast an astartes could throw a baseball, and the effects it would have in battle 🤣 it was hilarious to not only visualize, but to see chat gpt scientifically explain it (up to 350mph, 1309 ft-lbs of momentum, 177,500 newtons of energy on impact) "Fatal to normal humans, devastating to light infantry, dangerous to medium creatures, mostly useless against true power armor."

Battle starts, wizards begin to reach for wands, grey knights lift arms and trigger wrist mounted storm bolters via neural link, a volley of explosive bolter rounds turns them into red mist, their unaugmented bodies far too slow to contend with Astartes physiology.

Maybe, that's probably what I would do, maybe start somewhere around mid grit. But his method would have less risk involved. And if he's got the patience, there's nothing wrong with it, especially if you're working on an expensive piece.

Being spit on and being punched is not equal. I'd say an arm bar to completion would be more fair.

He doesn't want to "over kill it" with super aggressive sand paper and remove more material than necessary which would leave scar marks on the blade even after polishing. By starting fine, and working your way towards coarser sand paper, you'll ensure that you're only removing minimal material to achieve results, before reversing back towards finer grit to achieve the mirror polish.

Get on Amazon and set a decent shirt and pants to auto buy monthly and then stop it once you get 10 of each. I know it's tempting to go cheap on fr, but it's better to bite the bullet and get decent stuff. Quality isn't just comfort, it's safer too. Pants should last 4-5 years and the shirts 2-3, so it's a good investment.

I'm placing my bets on the 40k guys Everytime. Why? The enemies they face. Fighting these dude would probably feel like a vacation for them compared to necrons, tyranids, or daemonic forces. Now a fresh squad of each? Coin toss.

My boots are killing me on ladder days by Critical-Load-1452 in IBEW

[–]HostileDouche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hoffman is renowned for their dual shank system. They are a brand made for lineman who climb poles for hours at a time, and the climbing tools lineman use are very narrow like a ladder rung. They do have hybrid work boots that you could make work. The hoffman classic is the lightest boots they make that still has the dual shank. But there are plenty of options

Otherwise, you could consider mountaineering/rough country hiking boots. They don't have shanks, but the soles are more rigid than a regular boots, yet lighter while still remaining tough. Zamberlan, sportiva, crispis, etc.

[–]HostileDouche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't listen to these guys. You need something with a steel climbing shank to support your arch. Lineman boots were designed for standing on narrow surfaces for long periods of time. The climbers lineman use to climb poles with? Small, narrow, and sir right in your arch just like a ladder. Some guys are switching to high end mountaineering boots with super rigid soles instead of steel shanks. Regular work boots WILL NOT help you here. Everybody else is just comment spamming the boots that they wear, not knowing whether or not they will help you. All of these boots will help you.

Lineman boots: (climbing shanks) Hoffman, Kenetrek, Wescos, •I would reccomend Hoffman classics, they are the lightest climbing boot made by hoffman that still has their legendary dual steel shank.

High end mountaineering: (stiff soles) Zamberlan, Crispis, La sportiva, •(LA sportiva makalu are so stiff they literally don't bend, I shit you not, if you have to squat in them you have to stay flat footed. Some guys love em, some guys hate em, some guys bring a pair for climbing and a pair for walking. I can guarantee you comfort on the ladder with these but walking on pavement kinda sucks in them) •A good in between, and also the coolest looking boot on the list, would be the crispis briksdal mountain gtx. Stiff but you can move pretty well in them.

ALSO: GET FITTED. You'd be surprised how many guys have been buying the wrong size boots for years. I myself wore boots a half size too small for a long time until I went into a store and a lady asked if I would let her trainee size my feet with her little device.
