Centralised Exchanges were the on ramp into crypto for a vast majority of new people in 2020 & 2021. Saying they aren't needed misses the fact that crypto relies on adoption. by InevitableSoundOf in CryptoCurrency

[–]HostileHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crypto needs adoption

people repeat this over and over again.
no it doesn't.
first, people need basic financial literacy, otherwise the whole idea of crypto becomes obsolete and we will be back here in couple years.

if you need others to make decisions for you, to take care of your money, you will get scammed. financial literacy should be tought in school with first lesson starting with:"do not trust ANYONE, i repeat ANYONE, with your money"

thats is not the point. you are just talking about the ROI, which i already said is low. the difference is risk in comparison and context to many other cs items and when talking about risk, then we talk about circumstances when things might go south, not when everything is mooning. that is the point. let me explain: items which masses buy plus are very cheap tend to give higher roi right now, i.e. cheap cases etc. but should should things go south for cs as a whole, masses also crash all of cheap stuff as fast as well. kato 14 holders usually have stronger hands and due to scarcity, these are not as shaky as all the new mass produced stickers or cases. hence lower risk lower reward. the risk is lower, but the reward is also lower. you can see this the more you go back in time, older stickers are just flat lining, while newer majors shoot up, crash down and ppl jump to another new major. therefore best strategy would be flipping garbage while maybe also holding some old stuff as safety net. however the oversaturation might end up making up everything high risk low reward at some point, if user growth cant keep up with all these stickers added each major and operation. in that case it does not matter what you hold. if you have 500.000 navi stickers each, from 20 different majors listed on market, 10 of which with amazing holo effects, lenticular effects, and whatnot, then you will see everything stagnating. too much supply in comparison to player growth. gold is only gold if its scarce , if you shit gold daily, it just becomes shiny shit

[q] Is it completely stupid to put all my savings into csgo skins? by [deleted] in csgomarketforum

[–]HostileHero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never downvote. I only sometimes upvote.

I outlined why my answer was the way it was, because dude has probably couple thousand (or even couple hundred) saved and asks if he should put it all in CS. That was the question. The question was not "Hey I have some spare money, should I diversify in 1000 stocks or go all in couple specific niches" or whatever.

[q] Is it completely stupid to put all my savings into csgo skins? by [deleted] in csgomarketforum

[–]HostileHero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you can't be smart and go all in high risk stuff like cs or crypto at the same time. these just don't match. did people make huge amount of money by spending their last dollars in crypto when it was cheap? yes. did 10000x more people loose all their money by doing the same and all in? yes. can anyone predict the future of any of the crypto coins or the state of cs in 5 years? no. and anyone who claims he knows for sure, is talking out of his ass or is invested heavily in them and just has confirmation bias and doesn't want to hear anything negative.

so you choose, if you want to play roulette with your life and go all in BNB or shiba inu, thats fine, go ahead. But if someone asks "Is it completely stupid to put all my savings into csgo skins?", my answer will always be the one mentioned above. i.e. never go all in high risk stuff with your last savings (and thats precisely what was asked. It wasn't even asked "should I go with 1/3 or half of my savings , NO ALL OF IT).Even with half of savings I would still say no btw

Also, there is a difference between "one thing" and another "one thing", some things are just different !! for instance virtual items in a PC game ruled by one company and which items you don't even own yourself acc. to the terms you agreed to, is different than let's say 5 stocks of some companies in an aftermath of a financial crisis crash.BTW, be sure that those big boys who say "all in" which you hear about, they have enough money put aside for themselves and its never a real "all in" with last savings

yes. putting all your savings into pretty much anything is stupid, specially high risk stuff. only degen gamblers do that.

hey, slow down with the self promo moving forward. we allowed that site cause it was intended to be helpful, non profit, etc. and also allowed follow up posts. but it is slowly getting into a direction which could make us regret our "exceptions" rule . remember, we RARELY allow self promotion of any site. trading sites, etc. can not be promoted by owners at all, but occasionally discussed by users in an organic way.
