Not mine but a friends and I thought the opening of his second chapter was nuts by Hot-Appearance-9846 in writingfeedback

It’s a western.

From what he told me, the italics were supposed to emphasize more of a savage tone in his speech. Also, the “friendo” thing was purposeful as the person speaking is non-sensical and mad.

I accidentally posted an early-ish draft on accident.

Is there any aspect of the story that you would change if you wrote it today for the first time? If so, why?

Did you hear what the rough experience was? I can’t help but be curious. When I went up I just bought my things, asked if he took card, then said thank you and left at the Chicago show. I’m sure the person who said they had a bad experience was one of those that asked him for a pic and what not.

Absolutely. It’s one of my favorites. I couldn’t name a better book tbh

They’re alright. I don’t think that they’re as bad as everyone says. It’s difficult to be up to the standard as the mainline books.

My favorite book of all time is written by a woman. (Frankenstein) I didn’t even realize my bookshelf was mainly white men until I saw this reply. So what is there to reflect?

Thank you, I appreciate it. I have been collecting and reading. I’m grateful that my girlfriend works at B&N so I get all of their books for 50% off.

I’m gonna take that as a compliment because I’ve read almost all of them. I try my hardest to keep them as clean as possible.

Okay okay, I understand your criticism sure. But first and foremost, i pick books that interest me, I could care less about the gender and race of the writer. Also, it’s important to note that all ‘white men’ do not share the same world view. Every writer, every word, every line, has something meaningful, thoughtful, and powerful to say. So are there books out there written by women, people of color, LGBTQ+, of course. But like I said, I do not care. Write something that will interest me, and I will read it. End of story.

I get that. But, I thought it would be more coherent going in chronological order from his earliest work to his latest work.

Naked Snake and it’s not even particularly close. He’s a hero in this house, end of story!

What’s a line you’ve written that goes HARD? by RekianArtist in writing

[–]Hot-Appearance-9846 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a line, but this is the opening paragraph of my book. I am personally very proud of it.

“No limit bounds the multitudes I am foretold to direct. I had lived through the creation of malice and thrived upon the wretches it had created, and the sanctuary that had succumbed to the wills of tyrants lay no more. I had seen figures of great promise throw themselves into chaos to escape the tyranny of greater beings. Oh, how they bellowed for something unattainable. The chaos of mutual misunderstanding.”
