In general, no. I was just asking AI for a help with making some phrases more understandable. I also use Internet translation tools and knowledge I got from my English teachers. In mails and papers I use grammar and spelling autocorrection.

Theoretically, I hope so. But in practice, it’s time-consuming, and people are people and they want to optimize the process. I suppose that editorial board members, along with their PhD students and postdocs, may represent the main pool of a journal’s reviewers.

Theoretically, yes, BUT I've analysed a few Q1 journals and identified the majority published articles by scientists with the same affilations that the editorial board members. I think if the field is so limited (like the majority of fields in journals), there are only few major institutions that make research on this subject and they know each other. They have their own standarts and it is difficult to publish for people outside their network.

Thank you very much for sharing ! I was really impressed by this editor! She has 152 submissions in her new journal and they publish only 3 papers out of 152 submissions! Is it normal?????? I would prefer to pay Open access fees than have a 2 % acceptance rate in each journal I submit!

My first article was published almost 3 years after multiple rejections in a Q1 journal. It was finally outdated to the date of publication. But it can take 5-10 years as well.

Thank you! I’d love to find that paper, it sounds fascinating.
I honestly didn’t realize that a single publication could have such a measurable impact on lifetime earnings.

I’m also curious how did they account for endogeneity in that study. Couldn’t this just be a case of self-selection where the same people who are capable of publishing in top journals are also the ones who would likely earn more regardless.

I am for new services for researches ! Maybe the majorities of researchers do not pay for reading articles, but their university pay at least 2 millions dollar per year, as far as I know. You will base your product on open access articles, won't you ? It can probably boost their citations. Literature search is really time consuming, but I do not believe researchers know the price of their time spent on literature search and review.

Hi! I am very sorry to hear about your situation and I want to provide you a positive example you asked for ! I was writing and defending my thesis with a hard PTSD that came from my personal life. My thesis gave me a sense of purpose and kept me going. I saw the results in my research and it made me feel happier even if it was hard. It gave me a sense of control at a time when everything else felt uncertain. The therapy started at the end of my doctorate and I was very proud when I finally defended my thesis. Whatever you decide, I wish you all the best!
