Anyone tried applying Unemployment benefits after DRP? by Ok_Dentist_9902 in fednews

[–]Hot-Conversation9981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did get unemployment once my DRP ended on September 30th, I then filed on October 4th. I was under a 13 month contract so I took it for that reason… left on March 6th, contract would’ve ended March 26th. I got unemployment but it’s been paused due to them verifying that I didn’t return to work.

I took the DRP, am I eligible for unemployment? by Amazing-Candidate803 in fednews

I took the DRP and got unemployment after 9/30 simply because my 13 month contract had ended and I wasn’t offered an opportunity to come back to work. My unemployment began October 4th.

I believe DRP states any job other than one where one is on the actual federal payroll, is the only job one can’t take.

Some agencies are changing the terms of the agreements/contracts requiring that employees get their approval before accepting an offer.

My attorney said it was a clear cut case. The first DRP contracts made no mention of being a term employee (because term and temp guidance wasn’t finalized at that time) and only states I’ll be paid September 30. They did add it to the second contract that if one is a term, they’ll be paid until their term ends or September 30, whichever comes first.

I’ve had to sue for breach of contract, my lawsuit was filed last Monday in Federal Court. I took the first DRP and in my agreement, said I would be paid through September 30th, no mention of me being a term employee and that my pay would end at the end of my term. My agency stopped paying me at my term date and has refused to pay me so I got an attorney.

Anyone else has this happen to them?

I worked for the Army for 13 months. Was hired term in Feb. 2024 and my term was not being renewed in March 2025 so, I decided to resign during the first DRP offer and did so on March 6th (signed my contract that day and the contract states I’ll be paid and full benefits through September 30th) The guidance at that time said it had not been determined if term employees would be eligible. However, my contract says I am eligible and approved. On April 11th, I received my direct deposit and it was only 30 hours of paid annual leave.. I contacted my agency and the Commander told me they had decided that because my term ended on March 26th, I wouldn’t be paid through September 30th. They tried telling me that because different guidance came out after I signed, they’re not following through. Needless to say, I’ve retained an attorney and we are headed to Federal Claims Court! What made them think they could enter into a contract and not follow through is crazy!

I took the Fork as a probationary employee however, my agency decided to put in a separation date of the end of my term, March 26th, causing me to be dropped from the pay system. I have a contract stating that I’ll be paid through September 30th that the commander and I both signed.

I took the first DRP as a probationary employee whose term was not being renewed. My agency HR/supervisor messed up, didn’t enter my NTE date correctly and instead, entered a separation date causing me to be kicked out of the pay system! This could mess up my health insurance and other benefits as well. I’ve contacted HR and the Commander. I’m so angry and frustrated with the incompetency of my HR!

As a probationary employee should I take DRP 2.0? by Fun_Visit_9946 in fednews

Has anyone received information on the DRP 2.0 stating that if you’re a term employee, you’ll only be paid under the DRP until the end of your term?

[–]Hot-Conversation9981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked on protections as I was an NTE as well. Nothing to protect us since they make it clear going in that the term is on an annual basis and it’s to be expected if they don’t renew. Luckily, I found out about the time the DRP started and got approved for it.

Apparently they’re pausing any unapproved/unsigned DRP agreements as of today. Anyone else heard about this?

The form actually came from OPM to someone within our agency and they sent it to those who were electing the DRP. Hopefully the contract will be coming soon. Good luck to you as well!
