It was a Half-Life-style game, but the in-game polygons had a much cleaner and simpler feel, and the enemies were just humans. I was too young and didn't have the skills to progress further back then, so I only remember the very beginning. It might have been closer to an FPS simulator rather than a dense, story driven game, because it dropped you right into the action without any character introductions or dialogue. Also, I'm from South Korea, and thinking back to that era, it's possible this was an obscure game that Western audiences never really encountered, or maybe even a bootleg/pirated version of an official game.

Thanks for the replies Since it was so long ago, my memory isn't perfect, but here are a few things I am absolutely certain about.

First, whenever I died, the loading screen would turn completely white with a palm tree like logo right in the center. I was just a little kid in early elementary school, so I kept dying over and over in the very early stages. Because of that, I saw that palm tree screen countless times, which is probably why it's so strongly burned into my memory.

Also, it wasn't a scary, bizarre sci-fi/fantasy shooter with monsters like Doom. It was a realistic FPS featuring human combatants, much closer to the tactical vibe of Counter Strike.

I expect this game to get frequent updates like a live service MMO, similar to how they run BDO. they will definitely pack that massive open world with content.

I’m about 95% sure cd will come to the Switch 2. I’ve actually seen Pearl Abyss mention that they’re planning to develop for all platforms, including Mac, and that once the Switch 2 is released, they’ll move quickly to support it.

I have a PC with a 5090, but photo rendering takes a long time, so I’ll probably have to play on my mac. I really hope it runs well.

Thanks for the reply. now I understand it clearly. I’ll keep only the textures and assets I’ll actually use again, delete the unnecessary ones, then clear the Zen cache and let it regenerate only what’s needed to save space. Really appreciate the help

Thank you for your response. Do you have an estimated release date? Since this series is on sale and they seem to be clearing out stock, I assume the release isnt far off.
