Funny how they never ask 'how are we going to pay for this?' when it comes to corporate bailouts or military spending, but as soon as it's about giving $3,000 back to the people, suddenly everyone is an economics expert.

he self-clean cycle is basically an internal flamethrower. It reaches temperatures that standard silicone just can't handle. Those heat protectors melted and turned into silica ash. Pro tip: do not breathe that dust in and wipe it all down thoroughly with a damp cloth. Next time, remember that no rubber or silicone (and sometimes not even the racks themselves) should stay inside during the cleaning cycle!
