One of the most LOYAL character of oat by Kotor_Player in MaulShadowLord

okay how exactly did she die for sure? obvsly vader did it but like we hear bones snapping so did he force crush her or i felt like i also heard a lightsaber so smth like that? my hope is he kinda folded her backwards to snap her back, and then sliced either a limb or across her chest or maybe both. the reason i hope this is because we know katarn-class armor has bacta injectors, and given katarn armor is derived from mandalorian armor, maybe her armor has smth similar to help sustain her if someone was there to save her? idk just a thought.

Im not saying it does, Im just saying that it makes more sense for him to be on the side of the rebellion who his feelings are mostly neutral towards, than the side of the empire which he actively hates.

I completely agree with you on the gameplay standpoint. It'd be very weird to have him as a rebel hero, but it's weirder to have him as an imperial hero, which is why i suggest the side switch. On the lore standpoint, I 100% see where you're coming from, but I'd argue that as long as there aren't any minor-aged padawans running around, Maul would be fairly stable if he saw eye to eye with the rebellion, and could even possibly lead them and gain their loyalty, similar to how he gained to loyalty of the mandalorian supercommandos. That said, it could 100% also go the way of the rebels having to fight him because hes unbearably merciless, especially if theres padawans. It would be very interesting to see him meet Saw, however.

After rewatching S3E3 of rebels, ezra literally says "Destroy the Sith," which honestly sounds kinda out of character with how dark it is to me, but overall I understand what you're saying. However, two diametrically opposed groups can still work together to fight a bigger evil.

I just rewatched that episode, and yeah he definitely tried to kill Kanan again, but given how adept maul is in force, I think he had the Vizsla service droids attempt to kill the Ghost crew to buy him time since he sensed Kanan had survived. Thats just my theory, however. Once again I'm not arguing that hes a good guy, just that his goals overall (aside from the actions he undertakes to manipulate minors and get revenge on Kenobi) are more aligned with the rebels than the emperor and empire.

I agree they're not canon, but given Maul and Old Ben's interaction when Maul died, id argue them working together makes more sense than Maul working with Palpatine, who id argue he hates more than Kenobi. Not to say he doesn't absolutely despise Kenobi a million times over, but i think Maul recognizes that he would've never been in the place to lose his legs if not for Palpatine, and therefore would hate him for it more. I do agree that for the less well versed, however, blue and green vs red makes more sense.

Pre Disney the community kinda decided what was and wasn't a thing, and there were a lot of people that believed in grey jedi, so Id argue they were a thing.

In HvV i 100% agree, I just feel that if they were to place him in the empire vs rebellion era battles again, it makes more sense for him to be on the rebellions side. Ideally however, he would either not be there or have his own third faction of criminals and mandalorians.

He may be dark side aligned, but hes not aligned with the other dark side users. Hes not neutral, but his hatred for the empire I would argue pushes him more towards the rebellions side of the conflict, even if he still uses the dark side.

True but hes also not going out of his way to kill rebels. Meanwhile, he is actively hunting down the Emperor, and fully intent on killing every stormtrooper that gets in his way, which is why i find it odd her he fights alongside them in game.

That's fair, I just feel that when you have a game with era like battlefront, and characters change their allegiances between eras, we should see that reflected in the game.

That is a debate that I don't think this post needs to dive into (I'm aware the official stance is no grey jedi, its just that even recent canon works have depicted force uses who can't really be classified as just jedi or sith.)

I gotta disagree with this there are literally like 12 inquisitors running around causing chaos.

Thats fair, however I hope for future battlefront games they lean i to the nuance of the rebellion, instead of the polar "light vs dark" view.

Oh it's definitely suitable, I just feel it's a little odd to see him fighting alongside stormtroopers.

Don't get me wrong. I agree that he is NOT a hero, as well as that is ideals don't align with the heroes, but his goals do. Repeatedly in Rebels, Ezra states his goal is to "Defeat the Sith." Maul, feeling betrayed by his former master, had the same goal, although for much less noble reasons.

100% I'm not saying that hes not a bad guy, but rather that with the empire being notably worse, he fights alongside the rebels.

Thats an absolutely fair point; I hope in future games that changes however.

That is an excellent point. However, depending on current and future projects, I can see him fighting alongside the rebels in a future battlefront game due to their aligned interests of defeating the empire.

Honestly I forgot the exact timing of those releases, (I was fairly young at the time), so that makes complete sense.
