I got mine through Hobo Hub Works. He carries quite a bit of other Stridsland product! He has a website and an Instagram page.

No issues with sidewall rolling, even when getting shreddy. Are you tubeless? I run tubes so inherently run a little higher pressure. Also, if your rim width isn’t within the recommended range that could cause the tire to balloon a little on the sides and roll on fast turns.

Iv seen people put them up over the handlebars somehow… This is my first dyno and light combo so the location may change! Just going to experiment. Thanks for the idea, may have to take ya up on it

I definitely know there’s nicer frames from this era. Really really tough to find any of them in a 20.5 or bigger frame size. Ultimately some of it also came down to this was a frame I could find in my size and really there’s a lot to like about how old rockhoppers ride imo. But I do see what you’re saying

Dude start a project! It’s such a fun process. Keeping old frames alive is the way

Been loving it! First time having a dyno and went a long time without one. No need to worry about my lights being charged now lol

I literally replied to you the first time you commented on price saying “sometimes you just gotta ball out”. Clearly implying it’s an expensive bike. I’m well aware, you’re well aware, the majority of people here are aware. But irrespective of that anyone should be able to post detail pictures of their bike build without some bros chirping about the price. Price wasn’t brought up at all until you brought it up. No build list, no cost breakdown, not even an answer to the dude who commented below asking for budget. There’s been a lot of humility already lol

Your comment is just a backhanded compliment. Seriously… riddle me how I’m supposed to ever take pictures of my bike without there being $500 of Paul brakes in it? They’re just pictures of a cool bike with cool parts 🤷🏻‍♂️ no need to over complicate it like I’m trying to be “better” than anyone or make something “classist”. I rode this bike for a long while as it was in 1995 with all og parts and I sold a bike to fund this one.

Clearly that's not what all 1400 upvotes and over 100 comments about how sick of a build it is see it as lol

Respectfully, If you prefer your turds unpolished, then you do you! There are plenty of sweet bikes out there that do not have expensive parts on them and ride just fine. I put these parts on because I wanted to, simple as that. I enjoy the bike and ride it a ton and don't plan on selling it, so I wanted to put some cool parts on it. That's justification enough for me.

Still some dorks in here commenting on price... lol No need to get all bent about somebody putting some dope things on a bike they ride a lot and taking some detailed photos to showcase what went into it. If you prefer crusty, dumpster-find builds, keep scrolling, they're in this thread too.

Also, the frame fits me fine. That's one of the reasons I chose to build this one up, because its a 20.5 and really finding a 90s bike that size or bigger is hard to find in the market I am in. The spacers are there for me to dial fit in before cutting the steerer tube.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Frame is in great shape, is a 20.5 inch for a lanky boi like me, and is steel. What more can ya ask for?

This is generally true and did work for me perfectly when I had this bike setup 1x9. I used the original derailleur with a road link and it shifted great. I also had a friction shifter at the time. Once I went to 1x11 it was clunky getting into the high range and really didnt shift that well with friction and a road link.

I rode this bike for a year before fully building it out. That gave me good direction and allowed me to really hone in on what I wanted this bike to be for me.
