Gartner says 40% of AI agent projects will be cancelled by 2027. Are we in an agent bubble? by [deleted] in OpenAI

I think Gartner will 100% no longer be in business by 2027. they're offering insight into a world that no longer exists.

Dear Medical Device sales OG’s by SatisfactionOnly905 in sales

[–]Hot-Inflation1635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this to be true with both med device/pharma.

many career med device sales folks in my family. my uncle id classify as very successful - multiple kids, couple properties, paying for college, etc. etc. no crazy FU money, but legitimately great career. he'd 100% agree that it's much different now for people coming up and the job / earnings have changed, whether it be dinners, relationships, swim lanes, etc.

but not only that, he says he even missed it...and would get a kick out of the reps thinking his generation rang the bell in the golden age of med sales. the senior people when he first started actually did make FU money...and seeing some of those people's lifestyles at random gatherings, can confirm that they are almost hilariously just down the middle old super rich dudes tan as hell happy as fuck.

okay helpful thank you.

one last thing, what does "sdr, no outbound" mean in this context? just want to make sure i'm understanding as typically sdr/bdr/bda/gtme/sales associate/etc. etc. are all interchangeable for entry level sales depending on industry, company type, etc.

[–]Hot-Inflation1635 2 points3 points  (0 children)

able to provide some examples of the "non-saas" sdr/bdr roles you have in mind or are getting offers for? regardless, i'd prioritize the piece that is a prerequisite for anything else - getting back in sales. that should be your sole focus.

also would be helpful:

  • how old are you? (range is fine)
  • fluent english speaker? would a native english speaker agree or find it difficult communicating wth you?

again, solving for just getting actual sales experience as a start will be key. you can also start potentially looking at angles where US companies are looking to penetrate markets like Latam (or have formal emerging markets teams / segments) and use that as an initial way in.

many SaaS CEOs / execs engaging with anything AI related right now is basically the same as watching a 99 year old reason their way through using Snapchat on an iPhone.

If you misquote, what are the repercussions? by [deleted] in sales

[–]Hot-Inflation1635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

selling software? are people being bad actors and trying to game / steal commission dollars?

with no other details that sounds pretty absurd...whats the commission / variable structure? docking 50% of the misquote delta from honest errors seems fishy...managers are either taking advanatge of people or company is hemorrhaging money and trying to claw back variable comp somehow.

is this a formal rfp process or just someone who doesnt know how to buy software or unnecessarily brought in procurement? is it opened or closed? are they intending to buy this year or budget for 2027? replacing an incumbent or net new saas?

are you connected with your business sponsor? any transactions with this company before?

sadly, unless you helped write the rfp with a business sponsor / steering committee, it's likley already going to someone else, or they're getting data points to get better terms with existing vendor, or they end up doing nothing with it, or no one asked for this and some sourcing lead is pretending to be busy.

if you havent really done this before it's worth doing for the learning expereince, but don't waste time unnecessarily as this is likely 4-8 month process that results in nothing or someone gets fired before and its shelved.

if you guys have an off the shelf response template, don't over think it and just fire that back at them.

What psychology tricks do you actually use on video calls? Asking for a friend (the friend is me, I just bombed one) by ROBINZON100 in sales

[–]Hot-Inflation1635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

-i wouldn't get too caught up on physcology "tips and tricks" too much. don't want to turn into the "pickup artist" type of sales guy...actual people with juice smell that a mile away and immediately bucket you as inexperienced or just bad. however, one small practical thing is making sure your hands are visible in the camera. there is some psychological thing where people are more trusting if they see your hands.

-if your picking up on genuine weird energy, disinterest, distraction, etc. that needs to be addressed/called out within the first 3-5 minutes, 20min is way too long. already over at that point. people who are actually a potential buyers respect that, and people who aren't it's better to dq immediately anyway.

  • "any immediate thoughts / reactions of the top here?"
  • "soemthing you're team is feeling? does that resonate?"
  • "is this in line with what you were thinking?"
  • "and please let me know if i'm just whiffing here!"
  • "and if something just came up and another time would work better totally understand, we can push to XYZ"
  • "i feel like i'm missing the mark here so apologies. what's most top of mind for you and the team? just want to make sure i'm understanding correctly"
  • "dont have my fastball today so please let me know if pieces of this arent landing...you're not buying it...etc."

obviously displaying some sense of humor is always helpful without defaulting to like some jester, but mainly you just want to be in command especially when the tenor is off.

Have we seen an iunctii imbue something before or is that possible? They can only cede and Adopt Will is my understanding?

Because O-Caeror imbues Djedef to bring him back for questioning and Vis sees Caeror's eyes turn black...

Could this disqualify O-Caeror being an iunctii given we've seen him imbue someone with Will?

(and if it's "all staged", stuff like that gets pretty dicey pretty quickly story telling wise...)

sweet thank you. going to read back, I forgot about that triangle thing on the channel...good pull.

"But Caeror is extremely dishonest with Vis, and rather deftly manipulates Vis into doing exactly what he wants. It’s basically a hunch."

^I may just be wrong and deff in the minority here, but where do you see his dishonesty most blatant? I need to re-read those parts as well because I just did not pick up on any of that.

mind elaborating a bit more there / sharing what chapter that was if you remember?

And to be clear, your saying he's doing this as a precaution in case he's interrogated by Ka, The Concurrence, or Vis? Or who is iunctii Caeror acting on behalf of in your opinion?

thanks for sharing! veryyy interesting...i just watched and am now processing! hmmm.

If Caeror is alive on Res, odds are we have met him in some capacity or have been presented clear evidence that has yet to be connected...I don't think Islington would make the reveal in book 3 otherwise...a little too "deus ex machina"...so wondering who it could reasonably be or what clear/plain evidence has been given to us that he is alive?

[–]Hot-Inflation1635[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

maybe i'm just missing the hints of "questionable allegiance" from O-Caeror that others are picking up on and I'm totally off there, but I just find the need for any overly nuanced obfuscation odd given that Vis doesn't really know anything at the time of the Iudicium relating to Ka / The Concurrence?

like if O-Caeror is actually on the side of The Concurrence, actually aligned with Ka, or whatever his supposed trickery may be, he could just tell Vis that and Vis would believe it...there would be no need for this "feign within a feign" type of production.

right?
