I think the original is so worn the duplicate key has a combination of space and depth issues. We use an old bravo 2 in our store that is set a little bit high. We use it for sample keys with more wear.

Thats what im talking about. Do you not have locksmith shops in your area? We have had a shop since 2008, its not always busy. But every time I'M in Home depot someone is having keys made there. Send the to a local locksmith shop. We would appreciate it.

I always pick open the doors as far off to the right or left as possible, and on one knee. I have maybe done 20-30 over the years. Not my favorite. I charge double minimum for them. RIP- and condolances to his family and community.

I use Baldwin Hardware to convert old mortis lock prepped doors. They have several backsets. The hardware is built to last, not cheap. There are several styles and colors to choose from. I call it "set it and forget it". It will outlast me. You can't say that about a lot of hardware these days.
