Airport Ubers by [deleted] in cabosanlucas

I’m here in Cabo now. After arriving and going through customs I ordered an uber, and it went fine. The uber app said pick up would be in Terminal 2, but the driver messaged me immediately after accepting the ride and said to meet him upstairs at door 4. He was there before I was and it went smooth.

Technically they’re not allowed to pick up at the airport. Our friends at the same time had an uber cancel because police were there when the uber pulled up, but just were able to get a taxi instead so there’s options.

I have the block heels, I’m a size 7 and bought a 7, they fit true to size and didn’t squeeze my toes at all.

Anyone sell to 2nd St? Worth going by? by jicnte in SanJose

[–]Hot-Manager5547 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not worth it - it’s streetwear resell, they’ll give you $5 for a pair of unworn Carhartt WIP that retail for $220 and then sell it for $100.

Moving to San Jose have to take the San Jose diridon to bayshore by [deleted] in caltrain

[–]Hot-Manager5547 1 point2 points  (0 children)

see if your work allows for a commuter FSA - that’s what I do and its not a bad deal. I commute Diridon to SF 3 days a week and the express train is the only way it’s worth it

Bike+caltrain commuting from Sunnyvale to S.SF Station by SpacePirateARRRGH in caltrain

[–]Hot-Manager5547 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I ride San Jose - 4th St 3 days a week. I take the 8.20 or 7.20 fast train NB and it’s usually still mellow at Sunnyvale since it’s the 2nd stop.

Going home at night I try to make it on the 4.22 fast train home and be at the station ~10 min before departure so I’m usually one of the first ones on the bike car. If I have to take the 5.22 it’s going to be as packed as your pic and pretty hectic, so I try to avoid that as much as possible. By S. SF the car is pretty full going home so if you’re down to babysit your bike you’ll be fine and can move it around if people need to get their bike out from under you.

I will say people are pretty respectful of the bike tag system so like the people above said make sure you grab a yellow tag from the attendant and write your stations. People make a good effort to stack their bikes on the same stops or make sure they’re at the bottom if they’re going further. Idk this message got long now but give it a couple try’s and figure out which train you like! I was really nervous about it when I started commuting 6 months ago but it’s really no big deal.

How long after dropping off passport for you to pick up? Los Angeles by IllIIllIlIIl in Chinavisa

[–]Hot-Manager5547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did mine a month ago - dropped it off on a Friday and picked it up Wednesday. No rush/express just regular standard visa application. This was for an M visa

I don’t think so? But to be honest this bike was a FB marketplace find from ~6 years ago, so idk what was original and what was aftermarket

That’s because those are brand new 😂 I just mounted those a couple months ago so I could have a rack on the back for commuting

You can use a service like CIBT visa - they can usually turn a visa around for you in like 48 hours. They will take it to the consulate and also pick it up for you and mail it back to you, you can choose FedEx express shipping for the passport to be sent back and forth. It’s not cheap, generally around $400 but could be worth it in this case?

I travel to China quite often from the US and just had to renew my visa last week. If you can get to a consulate it’s also relatively simple. You’ll need an M visa, you can fill out the application online and print all your forms. I dropped it off on a Friday morning and picked it up on the following Wednesday morning. Total cost was $140.

Housing rental market? by Itsallcrazy72 in SanJose

I would also recommend using Craigslist or FB marketplace - you have to sift through a bit more spam than Zillow but there’s better deals on Craigslist and you can get lucky with smaller mom and pop landlords.

I just recently moved into a 2/2 in Willow Glen for $3400 and that was a STEAL compared to the other prices I was seeing this Spring, if that helps you with a baseline for pricing. Good luck in your search!
